Seems like one of these long range attacks by Pog is eventually going to come a cropper when a well paced chase mows him down, but maybe I am just a couch warrior who doesn't know his place?

This has already happened once or twice this past season i.e. where one of his long range attacks was nullified.

Also what is the big deal of so many huge drop outs? Some of those guys came to do one job and be a domestique for their countries team leader, once that job is done its pointless carrying on just to say you finished, others have no chance of winning so why put yourself through more torture. save yourself for another quality training/race day, most are also lining up this week again at Euro Champs for another showdown.

Agreed.

Also add in the nature of the course, short laps means riders need to be removed before the risk of them getting lapped.

Point is it needs to happen more often and guys need to put their egos aside and just go for it. Stop gambling hoping someone else will take up the chase. Like Kim Le Court said on the weekend she would rather arrive last than not try something.
