I’ve been on the hunt for reflective gear and battling to find anything worthy.

After seeing some really effective Ciovita gilets out and about I ordered myself one.

turns out the really reflective ones are the older ones and the new one I ordered was far from as effective.

Has anyone had any luck with something being reflective.

I do have rear and front lights, but would like something over and above too.

Very effective is reflective straps around the ankles or right ankle . The movement makes it very visible

You an get these from Sportsman's Warehouse in the running section.

You can get Ciovita to put a reflective print on most of their kit. I have an off the shelf Tinta jersey with a brand logo & company logo done as a reflective print.

Have a look at their Fusion Custom process.

I can share pics if you'd like to see what it looks like

You can also buy reflective iron-on film or strips that you can use to light up any garment like a Christmas tree. I have used the 3M ones but there are many others also. Google will find them on your doorstep.

Thanks for the suggest @Prince Albert Cycles 👍

@KingZA oooh I didn't realise they have a reflective print option, that I may keep in mind and as a potential solution. If you are happy to share some pics that would be amazing thank you.

This is the jersey in normal daylight and all 3 of those prints are reflective. There's also a big logo on the back but I wont post that as it's the same as these.2025-10-1511_50_23.PNG.3f6a611761a4a6f64465da7a3f1d0a09.PNG

And then this is the same jersey in a shady area under a camera flash. At night those prints would reflect the same under a vehicle light.

Old fashion pedal mounted reflectors are simple, convenient and very effective. But unfortunately not in fashion on competition style clip-less pedals.

Reflective 3M strips on rims also work very well. Lights pick them up in low light and they are moving which is also great for visibility.

Yip, I have mentioned it before on a thread, but there is an old guy in the Kalk Bay area that just has a square of 3M chevron tape (that you buy by the meter at Midas), on the back of his cycling shoes. You see him a mile off in the morning traffic due to the motion.
