Assioma MX2s are cheaper, better and can take 120kg. So you only need to lose a few. Or take it a bit easier while you are still working on it.

Order it direct from them online, cheapest anywhere even witb shipping and taxes taken into account and promt delivery

Agreed with this. ☝️ Comes in cheaper, even with import duties and shipping. They are great power pedals.

Assioma's are good but the single issue is the batteries cannot be repaired or replaced when they die. They require a very costly upgrade as the recharagable batteries are in the spindles and the whole axle needs to be replaced after it cannot hold charge. get some garmins with the replacable batteries.

I know because i have a very expensive set of assioma doorstops now as the price to repair them is too high.

Any reason why you want power pedals and not a spider based option? The spiders are cheaper and take less abuse than a pedal.

My mate uses pedals because he can easily move them between his bikes... but if you only have 1 I'd agree totally

Just had a look at the price of Garmin XC200s - R14k wow! Assioma XC R19k! Pretty nuts for pedals. I think I paid R4k for my Sigeyi spider. Granted it serves no other purpose than measuring power but still having 9k getting bashed on rocks all of the time is a pretty scary.

Interesting, after how many years did battery go bad, and was it one or both?

Garmins XC200 are: R20.9k
MX2-Pro from Assioma with shipping & tax: R14.5k

Sigeyis are about R8k landed here.

I went with Assiomas instead of two (or more) spiders as it also removes the "which one is accurate" problem.
So you have one source of truth between all bikes and trainers.

i got a deal during chrismas/black friday - was 100EUR cheaper

direct from Favero

the new dual sided road pedals AND the XC mtb pedal bodies.

total including taxes was R14823.10

shipping was dealt with through Fedex and they handled the taxes etc - they have a portal to pay the taxes. super easy. and really chuffed with the pedals.

This was after about 2,5 years so just outside of warranty. FYI i had and older set of Vectors from Garmin which went faulty and were replaced under warrnaty with a small payment. I switched to Assioma on the reviews and sold th replacement vectors.

FYI At the time i bought the Vectors and Assioma were the same price, there wasnt such a premium on the Vectors - they were also the older ones which allowed you to replace the battery.

For me to now repair the Assiomas even with a special offer from their support who recognise they are faulty they are R 15k for the two. Same as the cost of a new set. So why do it?

IMO the support from Garmin is better locally. I would have had to do the import and carry the freight and duty costs.

Use it or lose it.

i've owned all the garmin pedials

the first one with the pods, the seconds gen with the battery door issue, and now the rally pedals.

support is excellent.

both the first and second gen failed on me and were replaced with new sets of pedals each time.

the rally have been bulletproof so far.

my only gripe with the garmin pedals is the inability to service them yourself - if the bearings go, you have to send them in to garmin to do them bearings at considerable cost.
