You'd have to be stark raving mad to spend money on a shop with no track record, contact details or physical address.

Looks like a clone of this international brand.

i would ask them first before clicking on anything you fancy.

Looks like temu quality of MAAP, PNS or UC

They have just signed a deal with Cycle Lab, so will be available soon in all CL stores.  I have seen a few people wearing and quality looks good, and know some who have and happy with the kit

They’re legit, they do some ‘comm rides’ up in Gauteng.

Contact details are on their site

Contact: 064 501 9679
Email: info@mbocycling.co.za

sure, you saying they're legit means a million times more for me than what their website does.

By contact details I should have been more specific. an email means nothing to me, if i was more invested I could have called. if they have a physical address that can be verified to be n actual business then I'd be happier.

The instagram has been active since dec, but not linked from their site - weird.

Any online store i want to be able to go find some Ts and Cs with an actual CIPC registered company on it at a minimum. if there's an actual person, i'll go look them up on linkedin and see if they list this company as their workplace.

but ja, pogi shoes for R10k - guys let us know how it goes!

My understanding is that they have only been going since around Dec and although I don't know the 2 guys personally, they are regulars at the E2E rides in Joburg during the week, so have heard them talking to others at the coffee stop after,  I am guessing it is sort of a side hustle at the moment, but expanding quickly as I said earlier, I have been told they have a deal to sell their clothing through Cycle Lab.  So maybe why it only online, no physical address and only cell/email contact details at the moment... but hey keep bashing guys for trying to set up a business even though 2 of us have said they are legit

Can understand if people are somewhat weary though, case in point the abrupt Fly Cycles closure. Not drawing a connection between the two.

But yes, also gathered it's a bit of a side hustle that maybe they hope grows into something more substantial. Its a saturated segment in a pretty fickle market and industry, but if they make a go of it, best of luck to them.

Off topic, Fly closure, I hadn't heard and surprised it wasn't a topic of discussion after this mornings ride. That is abrupt and surprising!!

Unfortunately yes, seems the staff got back from Epic and shortly after goto the shop to find the doors chained. Yet the team is still going afaik, since thats linked to Fly as a fibre provider.

Sad to see and somewhat disappointing, there were quite a few staff between the shop and kitchen. Hoping they got sorted somewhere along the way.

MBO is a chinese/aliexpress brand. presume they're following the same model Northcliffe did with Monton.

but while Monton started out as great value, built a following and some good feedback from us all before hiking prices, this has come in at eye-watering prices from the get-go.

Not sure who would buy their bibs when the same money will get you assos
