Just looking at it now. Will the 566 be affordable to people that work for a boss?

I like it that the 986 MTB uses a normal seatpost.

Hi Mampara, The 566 will retail for around R21500 depending on the exchange rate. The 986 still has the integrated seatpost...it's the 996 that will use a normal post.

Dont quite understand the need for that bent toptube' date=' but it does make the bike look agressive. like a crouching tiger

I think that it has a lot to do with creating space for water bottles to be easily removed from the downtube by the rider.

The headtube/toptube junction it quite beefy to add stiffness to the front end. But that comes at a price of lowering the top tube and restricting space for easy removal of the bottle from it's cage. The bent top tube gets around that nicely while adding a touch of aggression to the LOOK of the frame.

Yeah, I agree. Far too many frames fail too easily.

In fact they may increase it to 7.2Kg and stipulate a weight limit for the frame and fork. Well not a direct weight limit but impose a mandatory crash test that the frame and fork has too pass before it is competition licensed.

Just like they do for race cars and bikes.
