Ben, sorry to hear about your unusual accident. It amazing how one second can change your life (for good or bad). [/quote'] To be honest I would prefer to donate money to getting Ben a prosthetic eye if that is what is required instead of just paying money into his bank account. I guess it is up to him what he does with the money he receives but to ensure sound management of the funds towards a specific goal e.g. A prosthetic eye for example. That would make more sense to me, my personal opinion of course. There might be something already that I am not aware of, don't read thehub often enough anymore.

We can all have a positive impact on someone's life every day, just look around.Maybe donate your old bike to the poor oke who can hardly afford transport to work and food for his family... But still, to everybody who cares enough to help Ben in his time of need.
