Yesterday on their way to meet up for a training ride, two of the Bulk Pack Meat riders were involved in a "hit-and-run".  Mark is okay, but Lidio has sufferred a fractured vertabrae and broken shoulder.

101% found them on the road on his way to join them!!  Don't have any more details, 101% will be able to add more.

Mark and Lidio are two of the principle sponsors behind the team.  Bulk Pack Meat has been a successful team over the last while and as such Mark and Lidio have contributed a lot towards cycling.

Get well soon guys!

Always very scarey to hear and see thing like this !!! . They where cycling towards louis Botha av. to meet Marco and I on top of Sylvia's Pass. They where Hit from behind (riding in single file)by some idiot in a jetta VR6 (blue) , happened so fast that there wasn't even time to get a reg. number!!

Anyway Lidio's  injuries are as Bruce said plus around R140 000 worth of damages on 2 brand new 6.9 SSL Treks which I had built up for them on Friday afternoon.

To the guy in the Jetta ... Just remember "The Wheel Turns"!!!!!!!!!!

what happened wheelsuck?

Not to Hijack the thread but-Got Clipped on the handlebar by a white Polo on the way in to Harties on Friday at about 5pm on that narrow road past the Superspar, went offroading and fell over (literally) in the grass. The falling was quite funny because my legs were so wobbly (from fright) that I could not unclip. And guess what not a single driver stopped to help-just the pedestrians who assisted. Just some scratches and a numb bum. So I was truly lucky in comparison what happened to the Bulk Meat guys.

The madness never seems to stop.

Unfortunally, with all the new cars on the road, this is set to increase over the next couple of years.
