santa cruz superlight vs anthem x1

Hi

I am currently riding a trance 1 (2007) and want a new bike for my 40th this year.

type of riding I want to concentrate on this year is marathon and stage racing.

need some advise regarding the choice between the two. My heart says go for the SC super light but the anthem x1 is similar weight wise and more economical.

Thanks.

I would definitely say the Superlight but then again I am slightly biased Wink.

But taking my blinkers off for a moment and trying to be unbiased........... I'd still go for the Superlight.

the older trance is very similar to the anthem x series in terms of linkages and shock placement. i don't know the santa cruz, but maybe as a change - life begins at 40, after allWink - gor for the superlight!

super light rocks, never rode a anthem before, but been riding the super light for 2 years now and the bike is comfortable and responsive, i did races like epicCry and transbaviaans on it with some xc races and no problem, taking going 40 a change is as good as a holiday and this wil be a good change.LOL

good luck on your decision and enjoy wich ever you take.

Single pivot' date=' just less hassles. But guess depends on the difference in cost. [/quote']

Have to agree. After stripping my Horst-link and replacing the bearings, my next bike would be a single pivot.

Hi Felt cq,

I just replaced my 5 months Anthem 1-dual sus, for a santa cruz superlight....NO CONTEST!!!

Santa cruz is such a better ride...

My next bike also will be one of these (I hope). But I'm wondering if I should hold out for the next version of the Superlight. Surely it's due soon? I'd like to see if they can get frame weight down a bit, as Giant did cutting about 500g off the Anthem. The new X1 looks a great buy value-wise.
