Stoffel76 Posted June 1, 2012 Share Just over 1.8m and ride a large Raleigh RDS7. Had a large Scott Yecora hardtail before that (which I loved), but wanted dual sus and disc brakes so changed to the Raleigh. Huge mistake - felt like I traded my reliable basic Hilux in for a high spec Tata. Just can't get the Raleigh to feel right... Although it not so much the bikes fault - once I got it I realised most of it original components had been swapped out for cheaper ones and less said about the previous owners mechanical skills the better... JTK Posted June 13, 2012 Share 1.77m. Large TranceX and Large 29er Talon. To big stock but with shorter stems (50 on the 29'er and 70 on the trance) they feel just right. But hey. I am still new. Realise they are maybe to big but I am getting used them... Iwan Kemp Posted June 14, 2012 Share @1.77m the Large is to big. In theory, yes. I am 179 and have gone from a Med to a Large as I also run a very short stem. There is a growing trend for bike's to have longer TT's and then come with shorter stems and wider bars. Iwan Kemp Posted June 20, 2012 Share Small Specialized EpicSoft Tail  Allow me to correct you...it's a dual suspension. Link to comment https://forum.bikehub.co.za/topic/33393-what-size-mtb-do-you-ride/page/5/#findComment-1688541 Share on other sites
RockCoach Posted June 21, 2012 Share   Allow me to correct you...it's a dual suspension.  If I recall correctly, Soft tails mainly reffered to a solid but flexible rear triangle giving about an inch of 'travel'. I don't think there were any great successes there???
