The other mixed teams must be spitting mad. Or maybe they're doing the same thing but their man isnt as strong?

On the head, nail you did hit.

BTW' date=' it is easier for her to hang on than the poor guy to push, imagine that, legs and arms then totally buggered up

look, props to the lady for hanging on and riding off road at the same time. that cant be easy to do.

but i think the argument is that, if songo were penalized for their infringement, howcome these 2 arent getting penalties?

Probably because the definition of towing "probably" meant the use of a tow rope or something like and not an arm.

hey, swiss pseudo scientist... it's about the spirit, not the letter of the law... If the chicks can't harden the f@%k up, and ride on their own, then they should be banned...

ShockedShocked

Is that why you did so well on Sani... your first MTB race Wink

I think the towing is where there is a rope or tube fixed to the 2 frames.

Holding on or being pushed is allowed. I have seen it in many team races.

But I do think they are pushing the boundries... Or should I say hanging on to...... Tongue

Guy to wife in tow : "Kom fokkit - trap harder!!"

Wife being towed : "ek doen! - en watch hoe jy met my ****** praat"

There's this chick we train with sometimes, she must weigh like 40kgs... all I got to do is get OB to ride an MTB, and get him and her to enter. All she's gotta do is hang on, and they'll cream the competition.

It's not as easy as it looks!!

Jo and I raced against "towing" mixed teams at last years Panorama, but its'n not as useful as during Mtbike races. A road race is all about staying with the peleton - with a bungee it takes too long to respond to an acceleration in the peleton. That's how we beat the "towing" teams!

SabieX was a different story - we got beaten by a more experienced and stronger team. Jo can climb better than Samantha IMO, but with Renato's skill and power we were no match!! Maybe next year!!

I would be happy if 'pushin'g or 'holding on' was only allowed for a limited time - but that's impossible to enforce!

You do have to be flippen strong to tow someone - it drains your energy levels!

And comes down to the strongest tower.

Should be disallowed imho

You think so? the girl still has to pedal a lot so a strong tower helps like a strong riders to sit slip helps but if the person being towed isn't strong on its own even with a maasive tow they will not feature

Towing by holding on is legal - you can even hold on to a camelbak strap or something.

And it's not just mixed teams; many male teams tow too.
