Brand Ambassadors who litter

Yesterday morning two of us sit in my car at the Panorama centre waiting for the rest of the gang to arrive for our morning ride. A white car, heavily branded, with a bike in the back pulls in. The owner, dressed in greenish branded kit gets out, prepares his bike and starts doing all his pre-ride chores. Another car pulls in next to it, the female driver gets out, the two greet and chat and then both proceed to prepare for their ride. The white-car guy reaches into his car, retrieves a sachet of goo-stuff and sucks the packet dry.

 

Then he tosses it under his girlfriend's car.

 

I walk over and ask them both if they are in any way related to Whasp - the brand emblazoned all over their cars and kit. "Oh yes, we are brand ambassadors for Whasp," they coo in unison.

 

"Some brand ambassador you are, " I say to Mr Whasp as I reach under the car and show him his sucked-dry Whasp packet.

 

"Oh that, it fell out of my pocket when I got out of my car, I was just about to pick it up. "

 

"Nonsense, you threw it down," I replied.

 

"Whatever," he says dismissively and carries on helping girlfriend with her bike.

 

Not only is he a tosser, but his wheels are ugly too.

Good on you for speaking out JB. People like that give me the sh1ts. I challenged a guy throwing a Gu sachet away on the Argus, going through Misty Cliffs. He replies " Oh, it's a bad habit I know." I told him that he needs to break that bad habit.

Well done for being bold enough to do something ....

I saw someone take empty gel packets out of his pocket and throw them far into the bushes after last years XC Provincial at Fountains. Another couple took him to task about it and he asked them if they thought they were 'f...k...g nature police' then simply got in his car and drove away.

Wasn't Wasp  / Pornstar very vocal a while back regarding that people can get free product if they pick up "other" brands empty gel packets? Guess this DWIS didn't get that memo.

You talking about the Spinergy's or the sif West Rand mags? (I can say that cause I am on the West Rand myself. That's why I did not say East Rand mags. I mean, how would I know what East Rand mags look like?)

I actualy took my gel sachet during the vasbyt saturday, and tucked it into my bib's elastic. Forgot about it later and made a big F**n mess on my car seat.
