Listen to Kranswurm, his logic is the most simple. Allen key goes on inside of pedal (frame-side of crankarm). Most pedals have allen key head there.

put the back wheel between your legs, (facing the bike).

Put the 15 spanner on the pedal and pull towards you to loosen. Works for both sides.  You must have blood on your hands to prove you've changed the pedals....

Aaagghh [sound of penny dropping]... Tongue

Thanks - I'm pretty sure mine has the allen key head on the inside of the crank arm.

So - simply insert allen key - hold the pedal part steady - turn key in required direction - and hey presto??

If so - awesome...

Spanner - blood on hands - cool.

Will try your approach if the Allen key route fails. Big%20smile

If you're going the spanner route it's worth buying a pedal spanner. They are not expensive and available at any bike shop. THe problem with normal spanners is that they are often too wide and thus dont work that well.

Lets hope those threads were greased before fitting. Then it will be easy.

If not and it wont crack you better visit your lbs for one of those long spanner/allen keys.

Use the opportunity to clean the threads and grease before re fitting

Swapping pedals has to be far easier than swapping cleats.

Only 2 pedals to unscrew.

There are normally 3 screws on each cleat ie 6 to unscrew.Smile

Remember you also have to align the cleats properly when you put them back.

Ya' date=' but there's no direction issue with the cleats, they're easier to access, and you can just draw around them with a magic marker before you take them off, so you know where to put them backWink

Yes, but there are still only 2 directions. Forward or back.SmileSmile

All this drawing with a marker business is just too much of a mission.Smile

but then the spanner must be facing up. . . i prefer to use clockwise thinking and assess it each time. Right hand pedal is 'right', left hand pedal is 'reverse thread screw'

So Who's the gentleman who cant swop pedals.. ? Do you think a person that cant figure out this can replace batteries in the TV remote or Even work rapidfire shifters?Dead

Gee my krag.. Just Put spanner on, give it a few beats with the palm of your hand to see which way is loose If you cant do it the "brainy" way.. It comes loose, now take the same one off the other bike and swap them this way you cant even get confused..
