Polar Battery Change

Hi there,

 

I am in Cape Town and need to get the battery changed on my Polar S520.

 

Can this be done at a shop or can I do it myself?

 

If any one has any information please let me know.

You have to send it to polar in JHB.

If you don't swim , cycle in the rain , row , do AR races , shower , bath or wear you watch then do it yourselfe . If above is not the case take it to a authorized Polar service centre to replace battery . This will insure ur warranty stays in place . But I donno bout place in Slaapstad !

Most LBSs will send it away for you, as will Sportsmans Warehouse, Due South etc. Or you can send it away yourself.

Sent mine via Due South. Took about 10 days and costs R80.00

The Polar ppl said they'll be back again in two weeks for some marathon expo if you don't mind waiting.

Well I am currently training with nothing at the moment.

 

So I will take it in ASAP and get it sent away. I feel like I am training blind without it..

For a quick response, send it to Polar yourself - it may take up to 2 weeks if you send it through the shop where you bought it. Polar offer a same day service if it's in early enough.

 

Depending on which watch/computer you have, it's not that easy to change the battery yourself, without risking damage to the unit.

Well they said 2weeks a week ago, so it's just a week before they at the expo again.

Sent mine myself, it arrived yesterday and I'm picking it up this afternoon.Spends more time with courier service than polar.They were very helpfull.

They will test the whole thing aswell and will let you know if there are any problems. Rather send it in.
