AndreZA Posted June 22, 2009 Posted June 22, 2009 so the only real advantage of FF is that the gloves keep you warm in winter and really warm in summer ? The LG ones in my posts does nothing for warmth. Absolute terrible in the cool/cold and nice and cool, just like short finger ones, in the summer.
Red Zone Posted June 22, 2009 Posted June 22, 2009 I only wear full finger gloves in extreme cold, in Cape Town that is only about twice a year. I have never taken the skin off my fingertips, are you guys spending too much time on tar? how do you skin your fingers on a MTB? I find full gloves are either too bulky and uncomfortable or not warm or waterproof enough
Yang Posted June 22, 2009 Posted June 22, 2009 Once got a sharp piece of grass/vegetation into my fingertip while MTB'g on singletrack through high grass, and it took weeks before it eventually came out. FF ever since.

cat-i Posted June 22, 2009 Posted June 22, 2009 holy but you can take chunks of anything off any surface !
Mr Mulebar Posted June 23, 2009 Posted June 23, 2009 I use both, definitely prefer fingerless on really hot days and never found it to be a problem on the odd wipe out
LazyTrailRider Posted June 25, 2009 Posted June 25, 2009 I find having thefingers open is nice a cool. Not that I ever get hot from them though Haha. Bos, you realise that makes no sense whatsoever?
Christopher Brunsdon Posted June 25, 2009 Posted June 25, 2009 Louis Garneau Evolution http://www.fitsportslab.com/tabid/54/CategoryID/1/ProductID/31/Default.aspx Will go check out Helderberg Cycles for a pair then - my LBS is not mentioned on their site (but the other store list for Somerset West will most likely ignore me again for an hour - if anyone on the hub works as that store, please take note of my rant). Currently I'm wearing my Woolworths Winter Gloves I used on my Motorbike for 2 years There so thick and clumsy, they get stuck in my shifters.
ChrisH Posted June 25, 2009 Posted June 25, 2009 I wear Fly F16 motocross gloves. R220.00 from Linux Yamaha in CTN. I guess I'm a freak because I wear them on the road as well. I even wore them at IronMan. http://www.mxmegastore.com/2009-FLY-F-16-Motocross-Gloves-p/2009-fly-f-16-gloves.htm
Christopher Brunsdon Posted July 4, 2009 Posted July 4, 2009 Just picked up a pair of long fingered Louis Garneau "Freddy" gloves for R270 at my LBS. Really awesome. What I appreciated with my LBS is, he first got me to try them on before showing me price (and I never saw the brand). My unbiased opinion is that Louis Garneau are awesome. Will also get a fingerless set (R250) for Summer.
