Piernas Flacas Posted June 24, 2009 Posted June 24, 2009 The recent news about Spaniards wanting FIFA to ban vuvuzelas and president Sarkozy wanting to ban muslim burkas are sparking, as expected, worldwide controversy. What do Hubbers think?
Andyr249 Posted June 24, 2009 Posted June 24, 2009 Vuvuzelas are part of South African soccer culture. They give our soccer an identity. If you had to really look at it every country would have something that can be attached to their soccer culture and which gives them an identity. Like for example English soccer supporters are widely known for their hooliganism. We are known for Vuvuzelas. So rather ban the Spaniards.
intern Posted June 24, 2009 Posted June 24, 2009 In times like these we should turn to Metallica for guidance. BAN EM ALL! hahaha. No, wait, wasn't the album called 'Kill em all'? I dunno.
Jackes Posted June 24, 2009 Posted June 24, 2009 How about striking doctors, can we ban them ?  Or ban Div for his racist comments ? O sorry wait, he made a u-turn on himself so I guess that stance does'nt stand anymore...
Alida Posted June 24, 2009 Posted June 24, 2009 In times like these we should turn to Metallica for guidance. BAN EM ALL! hahaha. No' date=' wait, wasn't the album called 'Kill em all'? I dunno. [/quote'] Â Â That was the first thing that went through my mind when I saw the poll - there's no Kill 'em All option!
AndreZA Posted June 24, 2009 Posted June 24, 2009 I think they should ban R&B music. It's more painful then vuvuzelas.
Capricorn Posted June 24, 2009 Posted June 24, 2009 maybe it's for the same reason that other teams give for wanting to ban the vuvuzelas, and that is that they can't hear their teamies on the field, that Bafana Bafana a traditionally sh*t game. Maybe they cant even hear themselves. Question is: is there any other place in the world of soccer that has a comparable noise level, irrespective of reason? If not, I would imagine the best thing to do is the local soccer reps make a public request to accomodate international teams's wishes. It would only be polite.Banning outright sends the wrong message, especially given the vuvuzela's uniquely african status. But i bet the boys with the big pockets, the one taking the cream of the profit of the Confed cup and the World Cup next year, will be itching to pull the trigger on this one and kowtow to the cashcow. As for Sarkozy the little hyprocite, he is trampling on the three pillars their democrazy was built on: Freedom, equality and brotherhood. Take away ones freedom to practice belief without constraint, and there is nothing left, as belief is a deeply personal one, thus it could actually blow up in his face (and i dont mean in a violent nutcasepersonalbombjob kind of way). Also, he is a hypocrite, because just the other day, I received slides of an Iranian nuclear power plant that had a turbine destroyed. Guess who built the damn controls? Alsthom. Hell, guess who built Koeberg back in day of Apartheid? Framatome, aka Alsthom. The little sh*ts are all suave and presumable sophisticated, but they play both sides of the fence.?Ask any frenchman what industry scores France the most foreign income. Watch his face when he says Energy, and you go: but isnt it arms?
Johan Bornman Posted June 24, 2009 Posted June 24, 2009 I'm with Mampara there, although I think he is confused about the exact genre. I'll rather listen to a 60-piece Vuvu orchestra in B Major than to Hip-Hop. And as for Spaniards and French Presidents! Who'll miss those if they're wiped off the earth? What did the Spanish ever give us? Pox, Seat cars and those silly poofter castanette things. French Presidents? Bhah! They just take beautiful women out of circulation and look for the next opportunity to surrender. Ban them. Â

intern Posted June 24, 2009 Posted June 24, 2009 I'm not a bigot but I think everyone who doesn't think like me is wrong and that everything that I don't personally agree with should be banned, including censorship.
Gasping Posted June 24, 2009 Posted June 24, 2009 I believe you may be right about smuggling Klippies. I wonder how Skokiaan would stand up to being smuggled in with this device?
