Hi all, which shop in the Jo'burg area is best for buying a Bianchi. I want one, even if it is a pre-loved one. Thank you.

Solomon's in Woodmead has always done great deals for me.

Two Bianchi Mondiales 1988/89. The one has Columbus SLX tubing and was turned into a single speed for my son and the other one has SL Columbus tubing and is fitted with first addition Campagnolo Athena components.post-51655-0-12227600-1425154514_thumb.jpgpost-51655-0-06788500-1425154640_thumb.jpgpost-51655-0-06199400-1425154686_thumb.jpg

Love the bikes, but ............... That scrum cap on the SS needs to go!

I have not progressed with the rebuild of my 2 Bianchi's and waiting for decals at the moment.

Agree with you there is a beautiful Italian seat under it. Trying to find a classic soft seat for my youngson who became the owner of the SS. Nice to visualise that frame of yours being brought back to its old self.

Awesome bike. I don't think they should have Shimano on at all, but that is your choice..

As my Italian friends call it... "Doeraatjie" (as opposed to Dura-Ace)

Ok so some advice from all you Bianchi aficionados out there. I have recently inherited this from my better half. It was *supposedly* an original Liquigas Team bike, and it did have a small hand-written "Nibali" name on the top tube when it was given to her. I have no reason to doubt the guy who gave it to her, so it might very well be true.

However, time has moved on (as has technology!) and it's now looking a bit tatty, and while it's still pretty fast for what I need, that Liquigas paint-job is very dated.

So - would it be sacrilege to give it a new more modern Bianchi paint-job, or is it best just to touch up the scratches and leave it as is?

Have you asked Mr Bianchi, JMK1?

I would advise that you don't resprayed the frame and rather look at selling it as it is and then buying another bike you like with the. Money. There are a few good bargains going at present.
