An out of the Blue project.

F.Moser track frame, I think its late 70's early 80's. The fork and seat post need some love.

Using my 1960's campy pista parts, with cinelli bars, saddle and stem.

Nothing is era specific, but its all good in my books. I haven't learnt patience yet...

I have heard those run beautifully with tyres on..........

I have found out that apparently the rims on this bike can only accomodate tubbies. TBH, there is no way in hell I am paying a grand per tyre for a little piece of rubber to go around my rims.

Now, what options do I have here? Lace new rims into my 100% original bike? Do I find another set of wheels (kinda period correct) and run clinchers so I can do some everyday type of riding (the odd commute to work)?

What say the experts?

If cheaper tubbies are an option:

(Looks like 36.48GBP, including shipping, for a set)

The cheapest tubby options are about R600 each plus another +-R60 to R100 for glue. Getting period look tubby will set you back at least R1,500 each!

New rims +- R500 each and another R1,000 to have built up. Your spoke count will also determine whether you can actually find rims. 36 hole rims are scarce!

Most of us buy older clincher wheels when we restore our bikes.

Contact me as I may have a clincher wheel set to swap or sell you.

Help, I have a VGC (8/10) DA 7410 braze-on front derailleur and need a similar condition 28.6mm clamp-on. Anyone able to assist with swap.

I could also swap for NOS 600 (6401) series clamp-on FD.

OK, so I'm a bit left brain challenged, that's why I need your help!

White, black or yellow cable housing for the Tommo???????

My taste runs to white, but maybe that's too bland.

Appreciate suggestions.

this is a beauty, i raced one like this in 1993-1995 as well as a year in Belgium - awesome bike - would love to own this bike again - if you ever want to sell :-)

Have you considered using a clamp adaptor, that the braze-on bolts on to?

Thank you, I have.

Unfortunately I don't have a smaller clamp but managed to use a 31.6 with shim in the interim.

This is the Colnago Master I am using for the Argus. She is a 7 speed. All Campagnolo Record accept for the calipers and rear derailleur that are Chorus.  Biggest gear at back is a 24, but I still have time to get something bigger. Someone got some Record compact chainrings for me? :) attachicon.gif20160226_182503_resized.jpgattachicon.gif20160226_182537_resized.jpgattachicon.gif20160226_182520_resized.jpg

Are you Eric? I think we met on Saturday :) Love this bike! Wow
