For those of you interested in L'Eroica Britannia, I've just seen this on FB.

Means anyone can still enter.

Hi folks,

After a few pre-Christmas technical issues, and despite a few people managing to fight their way through them, we turned off our on-line system in order to fix the bugs. That's now been done and we're delighted to confirm that entries for pre-registrants will open by Friday this week at the latest. All those who successfully pre-registered will receive an email with a PIN code and instructions of how to enter.

For everyone else we'll open entries generally on or around Monday 3rd Feb. No emails, no PIN codes; simply a matter of checking www.eroicabritannia.co.uk and hitting the enter now button.

We've closed any pre-registrations so general entries will be allocated on a first come first serve basis.

We have a camping field which all riders get an FOC pitch in with the entry price. Why not make a weekend of it and come for the 3 nights.

Super excited to see you in June.

Respraying in mid January.

Frame is a bit rough at the moment.

Have sourced parts I wanted to make this a daily rider.

So....my frame is back from paint.

Settled on a classic design, and had the main logos painted, rather than use the decals I purchased.

Very happy with the work done, and the fact that a bunch of glorious chrome was exposed.

I will apply the Columbus decals and the smaller olmo decals I had made to complete the frame.

More detailed pics and the build process to follow.

Thanks guys! Really appreciate it!

Less is sometimes much more.

I just wish I had the components to match the frame.

I am going to get it sorted and running, so that I can ride it, then replace selected parts as and when I can.

Should be a wonderful journey.

Shucks that's nice CroMo, you must be chuffed.

Must say I'm looking forward to seeing it whole!

Very, very cool, you're right, sometimes less is more.

So, finally stripped the 80"s Colnago Super I bought last year. The bike hadn't been ridden for years and was very dusty.

Thoroughly cleaned to frame to see if she needs to be resprayed. IMHO I think I will not respray but rather have her scratches touched up and new logo's painted or fit new decays. What do you hubbers think?

Initially I thought the colour was a deep wine colour but it looks more candy apple red, especially in the sunshine.

Quite sad to strip off the old decals especially the head tubes but it needed to be done.

The chrome will restore fully with only one or two small rust spots remaining after a bit of elbow grease.

My thoughts at this stage are to have Colnago and the clover painted in white on the down and seat tubes, not sure of the top tube.

Guess a visit to one of the airbrush artists is a first step.

I have a set of those exact decals I got from cyclomondo. They are brilliant quality. I agree with the painting wording on, but if you want to keep it authentic then go with decals, just like it came out with.

Cyclomondo is the way to go for sure.
