Taipei, home to 2.7 million people and the capital of Taiwan, has a rather large bicycle secret hidden among the tight streets and winding alleyways. It can be best described as an unbelievable, jaw dropping treasure trove. The private collection of Asahi Chang contains more than 600 professional track and road bikes. It is the largest of it's kind in the world, unavailable for public viewing. The location is a very well kept secret. We were lucky enough to have a peek inside the collection that has been nick named, "单车书房" - Bicycle Heaven.

So, you're telling us EvanB is really called Asahi Chang and lives in Taiwan? ;) .......Because that's how I imagine his pad.......or maybe it is HeyYou?

All of us here put together don't even add up to that kind of collection...even in quantity, never mind quality!!

Damn, what I would give for just a handful of that collection.

Even if we all had the money, I doubt that many could sustain the long term drive (bordering on obsessive-compulsive-ness) to keep on building up a collection of this magnitude and quality. There is simply no quick way to do it. It takes years of determined single mindedness, oh, and an all consuming passion and love for bikes!

Nowhere near the numbers and nowhere near the quality, but I was thinking today about this obsession!!!!

Goodness knows how much I've spent on gear and brake cables!

Cable housing?

How much on cable ends?

Rim tape?

OLD tyres and new tubes?

Saddles?

Tools?

and then there's the really expensive stuff.

THIS IS NOT A CHEAP OBSESSION.

Yesterday on the Jozi Freediom Ride,  I chatted to a chap riding a beautiful old red Colnago with internal cabling and chrome forks. It was an absolute beauty... I was too slow in getting my phone out.

I've asked Tyerone to make me up a set of decals for a GIOS TORINO.

Does anyone have one that we can get the font size /lettering measurements from???

Searched the interwebs, but not found anything, other than decal sets.
