LBS morality question

In retail you are the front line - to pass the buck to your supplier/source when there is a problem is not what customer service is about. The customer (who is king / queen) got the goods from you: you should make a plan when there is a problem' date=' even if its temp solution. Problem is a lot of retailers are just plain stingy: they not prepared to layout a few extra bob to keep the customer happy. And that just creates bad vibes, and bad news travels much quicker than good news. However comes a time when a customer is acting like a spoilt child / total ******** thats when you offer a refund and ask them to kindly allow you to withdraw as a supplier.

Thats just based on my experience (25 yrs lol) in possibly the kukest and toughest business: IT supply & services. Often there is a supplier problem, they distributors can be total facists and we JUMP to sort our customers out, always try make a plan. For every problem there is a solution. For whats thats worth.

Guys I do whatever I can (within reason) to keep my customers happy! I strip my personal bikes to lend stuff if need be. I've just lent a guy a brand new frame for his trip to Nepal (the frame we were supposed to build up for him is somewhere in customs) but he is spending just short of R60k for a custom build - I will do whatever I can to look after him! Just the way I run my shop.

Nice 1 Wsquared Big%20smile thats service and more than that no one can ask for.

Even if some problems cannot be helped its how you come across to the client.

Of course it has to be with in reason , ask me some of the stuff we get asked in the hotel and when we cant do it due to some logistical problem we get ten tons of sh!t.Ouch

This is where your relationship with your LBS really comes in handy.

I will do my best to support my LBS as far as possible, but sometimes when I feel that they are bit "greedy" or the funds are a bit low then I go elsewhere, but otherwise I try and stay loyal to them, as I know that they will bend over backwards to help me when I'm in sh!t street one day.

Grommit, what on earth can be the suppliers problem for 6 months? or 6 days even...surely the supplier can get one in a few days, as they should have some at another dealer?

Don't put up with it, give the supplier, LBS 2 days...I say

Not to sure what happened but the LBS had an about turn. I am fetching a loan saddle tomorrow morning   Clap

Its seems their reluctance to provide a loan unit is due to the Anthem being prone to breaking saddles and they were not keen on me breaking a lone saddle. *** story but hey I can ride my bike this weekend
