Dunno about "colour-rated"' date=' I am sure that it is over-priced and over-rated though... [/quote']

Yeah, yeah....let's not get into that debate now. Wink I used to also think that but now I by far prefer Assos to any of my other bib shorts.

Maybe' date=' but I'd feel like a right pillock in shorts that cost more than my bike... [/quote']

That's why I make sure my bike costs more than my shorts. Wink

I have both red and black ones.

I have always prefered using the red ones - felt more comfortable. Might be this temperature thing.

Btw these bibs are only over rated if you spend less than two-hours in the saddle a day.

Is there any difference in the thickness of the fabric? I agree about the TITS part. I've found that all the bibs I own feel okay up to about 4 hours and then the Assos wins hands down.

why r they so expensive. prefer vermark anyway. also comfy, both short and long rides - like the dc. also last long. cost R1000.00. so like 3 pairs vermark per 1 pair assos? replacment alot cheaper. but hey, if ya go the bucks then spend the bucks on whatever you want right?

My latest pair of Assos bibs cost under R1800 a month or two ago so not quite 3 pairs Vermark to 1 pair Assos. Yes, you do get cheaper bibs. I just find them the most comfortable for my body and worth the money for the type of riding I do.

I don't know why people are forever on about Assos being expensive etc.

I'm sure there are many people who ride expensive bicycles which do the same job as cheap bicycles and yet people don't seem to whinge so much about that.

assos must be good - they are swiss and used by the pro's.  Perhaps it is just that they appear to be overly expensive?  If a pair cost R3000 and a rider was on the bike every day for a year they would work out to R8 per day. (give or take).  Bikes may be expensive but they also last longer. My bibs last around one year before I replace em.  I actually highly rate the assos range (especially the top of that range).  Would very much like to be kitted out head to toe.  Their winter riding jackets are very niiice!

But Assos is going to cost more.  Again - if ya got the bucks spend the bucks on what you want cause it makes ya happyand because ya can!  And life is short.  But the road may be longer than expected and a comfortable bum means a better, less painfull riding experiance.  Vermark, Giordana, Santini, Assos, etc, all have ranges that cover the financial spectrum.  All are good and personal preferance may be the deciding factor.  Yes or no?
