Shimano XTR 2011 + Sram X.0 2011

So Its out, such crappy pictures though, my first Impressions was that The sram cassette looks like the bottom of the range shimano of a fey years back, mega range was it? The 2 blade crankset Looks like it could be sh*t hot as well as the stealthy Rear der. <?: prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

As for Shimano, At first It looked like the skinny 90?s crankset but upon further Inspection It proved to be a little nicer. One cant exactly see If its gun smoke /mirror colour or Silver like chrome finish but One thing I know about XTR normally It looks hot in real life, and If it doesn?t look so at first, It grows on you !

Big news is that XT and SLX will also get 10 Speed. POWER TO THE PEOPLE so we dont have to fork out for XX. Im really looking forward to seeing the XT because this Years didn?t look ?all that WOW? to me. Wish We could see more Pictures.

I just wish Shimano will get away from these super designed big rings. You can not fit anything else without it looking out of place.

Im with you 100% and it costs a arm and a leg to replace.

ups to SRAM for that. I meen one could probably pop a BBB blade on that new XO and It wouldnt look out of place.

Sorry for the crap quality pics. One cant really see to much, Im sure there wil be better ones in a week or so.

Interesting thing is that the only thing that makes the XX groupset expensive is the casette. If SRAM or Shimano bring out cheaper 10 speed casettes then that problem goes away.

The rear derailleur on XX is also very pricey.

Seems these images have been pulled from many forums and online magazines in teh last few hours. Just a matter of time before the thought police find theHub.

Then the Cradle will be famous...

apparently these images are unofficial release................again

I think this extra speed thing is a mistake. What's wrong with 9spd? You are changing gears so often on a MTB. Whether it's a 23 or a 24 tooth, are you really going to notice.

This is just an attempt by the manufacturers to force us to "upgrade" to cassettes that cost more and wear quicker. I will resist. In fact, I have already moved one of my bikes to 8spd, where a new cassette costs R200.

I know this thread is old, but just ordered the complete 10 speed X0 groupset for myself (right down to the brakes)!!! Still waiting for confirmation of my order, but the prices aren't much different to the 9 speed by the look of it. This, together with SID WC fork and carbon dual sus frame should be awesome! Pity they not making 10 speed X0 in green because my frame is black and green, but decided to go for the red instead (with the much cheaper 10 speed PG-1070 cassette to save a few ronds!).

Now the waiting begins... Hoping it'll be here in less than a month, but will just have to wait and see!

You going to have to post some pic's of the new group set when they arrive!!!

Where can we see released pics of the 10 speed groupo's? I have seen the ones of the X7, so interested to see more!!!

Couldn't find any pics... didn't even know they existed and then got a pricelist with them all on it so figured why not give it a try. It does look from the pics that they have just rebranded the Noir crankset and Elixir CR brakes though as X0 (no complaints about that though I s'pose except the X0 is slightly more expensive!). Also getting an XX groupset with SID WC XX fork for someone else and a SRAM Red groupset for myself so going to be quite the order by the time it's done!

Shaun, Where are you "getting" this stuff from? Im patiently waiting for a X7 crankset, I want to go dual blade but will stik to my ninespeed for a while. can you get prices on a crank? the 28- 42 one?

Posted

Unfortunately can only get the parts if you buy a complete bike from me, can't sell individual parts (the pics of the bikes will come when all of my stuff arrives!). Exciting days ahead, road bike with SRAM Red, carbon dual sus with X-0 and still deciding what I'll do with the hardtail! (Oh, and a play bike with a mix of everything from X7 to X0).

Seriously contemplated the XX option, but just didn't seem to be worth it... Hoping that the dual sus will get me through to the 2012 Epic (that's how long I need to save for the entry fee!)
