Sounds like a nice enough venue but relatively inflexible package. I wanted to take my family with me. Wife and daughter dont ride. No reduction even if i dont use the tent or eat the meals. In fact I was told that my family could buy meal vouchers. Who says we eat ahat they prepare?

Luckily there are other places that are willing to be flexible and accommodate my family. Pity about what otherwise seems liek a nice place to ride ....just not family friendly.

Erm it is a stage race ?? My family came with the first year and stayed at the Sodwala lodge , it was a perfect arrangement . Mankele is after all a mountain bike part and the people that go and camp there do it because they can go and ride all the awesome tracks . What race did you have in mind that is so family friendly BTW .

Oh yes, we've moved it one month later in the year so that we can avoid the risk of fire season and dust.

Hmmm... avoid dust hey Mr. Nature, yes there was lots of dust on day 1 last year, unfortunately it was very wet dust! Methinks November shall only exacerbate the "wet dust" problem....not?

But.... I shall definitely not miss it, wet dust, or no wet dust

I am not sure why you say, we cannot accommodate families? We are one of the few stage races, that actually allow & encourage families/support crew into the race village. Isuzu 3 Towers Stage Race = 3 Days of awesome riding, lekker food & great atmosphere. That's the package! End the day this is a great rate, for a great race ... split hairs and you will miss out!!

I'll be happy to answer any other questions, Mark Mayhem Meyer

I know it is a stage race but I like being with my family between stages. Point being that although I will not be making use of their meals etc , they still include it in the pricing.

Not to make too big a deal of it but I am a family man and have to fit cycling in around these responsibilities. Not their fault but just the comment that they could be more flexible in their approach.

I have only ridden the SabieXperience before so not a lot of experience but we arranged our own accommodation and spent time as a family between stages. I just balk at having to pay for meals that I dont eat.

My opinion

Over and Out!

Ok NOw I see you are actually serious. Thought you were joking there for a sec. Well to be honest probably 80% of the participants are family people and as Mark said it is one of the few stage races where your family is allowed in the race village. They don't have to buy meal vouchers, they can prepare their own food if they camp on site. So I guess yo would want some money back if you don't compete a stage or if it rains and you don't want to get it dirty? Really get a life man, this is the best value for money stage race you will find in SA now even if you don't eat your meals that you paid for.
