jugheaddave Posted February 22, 2010 Share Hi Have the opportunity to purchase a set of Shimano XT Wheels. (I think 09) the ones with the red spoke nipples. Can any one tell me what these wheels are like, and are the gonna be much lighter than my Mavic 819 with Dt Swiss Hubs? I weigh 82kg, and ride pretty hard. CAAD4 Posted February 22, 2010 Share I have them and weigh more than you. They still run true and there is no k@k with conversions etc. They can use tjoopless or normal tyres. Just service the hubs maybe twice a year, which is not expensive, as a bit of preventative maintenance. I have run 1.9 to 2.3 tyres on them, no problem.
