Also a none MTB dude (but will be starting soon)/ daft question but will that bike need a special Cannondale rim to fit onto the shock? or are there other bikes with the same systems?

Posted

Cannondale's Lefty system uses standard rims. However they use special hubs. There is quite a variety of different manufacturers that build wheelsets for the Lefty system. A lefty option is available with all Mavic's wheelsets.

There are two hubs available over the counter.

Cannondale Lefty Si Comp

Woodman Bill Lefty

Mavic and Industry Nine make wheelsets for it too.

On the rear single sided swing arm...... Smile

They tried it on a prototype and lets just say it's work in progressStar

Cool thanks for the info guys. Not that I know anything about bike manufacturing but on the subject of the rear stay I would make it out of Reynolds 853 and join that to the Carbon. Should sort out all the strength issues - what the problem is??
