Suggestion - maybe take the braai with you on the ride

Enjoy and have fun!

Dont think it will be an issue, no one cares if you stub your toe...

I recall one chap who very successfully raced XC in SA as a licensed vet using rocky sandals.

Illegal to wear flip flops. It is even illegal to wear flip flops when driving a car.

Reason is not very nice one but a valid one nonetheless.

If you are in an accident and are killed instantly you always come out of your shoes - not sure why but this is what happens. If you are dead and still have your shoes on then the authorities know that you were not killed instantly.

Weird enough to be true....................possibly.

It was illegal to wear them whilst driving a car in Sardinia in the early '80s.  The police armed with Uzis set up roadblocks using this rule as their money-making racket. Didnt seem interested in much else.

Like triangles in Mozambique.

I have heard it from a few cops that when they come across a body especially those run over on highways and the shoes are missing then they know the person was killed instantly.

As for knowing of anyone who has actually put the theory to the test fortunately not.
