So which of these trails are open for night riding?

Hi, Any map to follow if I want to ride say from Sir Lowry's pass village over Gantouw's pass towards Villiersdorp without touching any tar roads?? I'm very keen on doing such a ride but can't find any trails that allows for this!

Not sure if this is possible without trespassing. Why all the way to Villiersdorp? Going up Groenlandberg and doing Grabouw MTO, Oak Vallei, Thandi, Lebanon will be more fun.

possible.

 

slp - gantouw - country club - nuweberg - groenlandberg all on cape nature hotentots holland reserve land.

from there you'd have to speak to (lots of) farmers and go anti clockwise around the dam to stay off the tar.

Any suggestions to trials and routes that I can go and ride?

 

What I have ridden :

 

Tokai - More a exploration session that finding the nice trails.

Groenpunt - Houtbaai : Coastal route. Would like to add chappies next time.

Bottlelary hills : Any comments?

Table mountain routes : Any comments?

 

I will be staying in Rondebosch and fying my MTB down.

 

So if anyone is keen to join me in the week or maybe the Saturday, let me know.

Must do Jonkershoek and Oak Valley , optional is Skapenberg, Thandi, Lebanon, Grabouw MTO.

Firstly Welvanpas is a must do,

Then lebanon

Then Jonkershoek canaries and now that never ender has been redone

Then Oakvalley

Its never safe to ride alone, if you brake your leg lying somewhere off a mountain you're buggered, but if you mean as far as muggins and stuff go. All these trails are safe to do. In cpt bikes get jacked going on the road past squattercamps. Not on the trails itself.

Also wanted to say Welvanpas but its quite far out, but Jonkers is still no1 in my books. All are safe to ride alone. I might be able to join you @Jonkers mid week for a ride.

There are also trails in the Durbanville area, e.g. Contermanskloof, Kilcrest, etc.

Hilcrest is about 25km from Rondebosch according to Google Earth
