I got an sms from Fand @ 5:50 saying everyone pulled out, ride was off. Wasn't too sure last night if I was gona ride - weather was a bit dodge.

Was looking forward to meeting you guys.

Please let me know if you guys do that loop agian?

Yeah, I had a nice and mellow birthday yesterday.

LIke MariusL, looking forward to when this training ride can happen.

It is such an adventurous and beautiful route.

How dependable is the members of this peloton, I am unsure.

Please erase my doubt with some action and commitment.

As I will be travelling from Vierlanden, Durbanville to S West to make this happen for myself!

And, let's tighten those communication gaps. Exchange cellular nrs.

Let's make this happen, Fellow Riders! B)

Awesome ride with Luke...the Big Bus :D :D !!!! What great weather. Cold going down the passes but what stunning views and landscapes from the tops.

My Garmin; gave me a loop through the 4 passes of 129km in 5hr04min @ moving average of 25,2 km/h. Thanks to Luke for sticking with me and coming back to fetch me on the climbs.

Next time , I agree , lets take down those cell no's .......Luke the sub vet missle, needs more than me to ride with, to get some training in.

BTW , Slowbee, the Viljoen's Pass hairpin is re-tarred (as Luke says) ...it's like a MTB burm now !! And thanks again for the coffee.

wow awsome, Maybe It was a blessing in disguise for me as I wasnt verrry strong on saturday and even sunday I was still not feeling myself( I had some all-nighters at work last week) but very keen to do the ride!

I got a verry cool ride planned soon and would dig to make it a group ride when this 4 passes is one is ticked off. Lots of climbs (In fact pretty much every climb worth mentioning in the penunsula except oukaapseweg)

Here goes... something like ..campsbay- houtbay, up to Constantia circle down through tokai- around kalk bay to simondstown, over red hill- coffee in Scarbrough- mistycliffs- around kommetjie to noordhoek, chapmans peak, suikerbossie and downhill from there..

But yes, This is about the 4 passes. So dont want to hijack this, When this ride happens I will make My own thread for it.

Yes, I'm sure it's a bit tougher going up Hels Hoogte and Franschoek from the other side too. Might be worth a look :)

mmm... That would be very "interesting" coming down sir lowrey though.

The other side seems alot safer to decent on.

Always some big ass trucks that you need to compete with on there.

I would be very keen to join for pieces of this.

But I must say the N2 doesnt really feature in my "must ride on list".

There is actually a beautiful road from the N2 (just before caledon) that runs to the the other side of villersdorp. You go right past the dam and if it is full you can see some water overflowing.

I want to ride it oneday.

What about getting a support vehicle in some rides?

We all chip in R50 for petrol. Some people really dig riding support like that.

Slowbee....Not really; as it's a slow rise to the about 650m from the hairpin then it climbs 160m in this distance....... BUT Helshoogte will be harder/longer and Franschoek will be harder & longer.........BUT the good news is Sir Lowry's will be a breeze :D :D

Definitely, cell numbers a must. FanD and I have swapped but I still don't have yours Headhunter, I will PM mine over. The pace was good, nice to get in some LSD and it meant the legs were still ok for a nice fast ride yesterday morning.
