Very Worried!!

So poepol here goes and buys a mountain bike, nothing fancy. Went for a 70km ride yesterday and only for the fact that I can barely walk today(more because of bruising than anything else) I felt like a kid of ten years old.LOL

What a relevation I absolutely loved it no cars giving me crap on the road.

Very worried that maybe road cycling was never my thing!

Anybody wants to buy a carbon Bianchi nanotech? I think it may just be hanging in the garage for a while!

Humble apologies to all the mountain bike riders out there. Roadbiking is easy compared to mountain biking!!!Ouch

Will be seeing you guys at thee mountain bike races for sure!!!!

I also do better in mtb races, the two I've done, then road races. But will not stop road riding. You do need the milage in your legs.

Mampara said it.

The road bike helps with the fitness as on the MTB you don't get that many km's in on one ride.

But yes.....LOVELY stuff......went down Beyers Naude on a single track this morning getting all fours in the air with Limp Bizkit slamming in the ears......ORGASMIES!

Might sound weird but is was nice to see that one can still bleed!!!(S&M I think can closely be linked to mountain biking)

So were do the mountain bikers meet!!(Benoni/Boksburg) and please dont laugh at my bike. Bought a Wheeler with Hayes disc brake/rockshox dart2 and LX at the back. Did not want to spend a fortune starting out.(OK wifey said she would kill me if I pitch up at home with another bike!!)

Had exactly the same feeling when I did my first Mtb race (only did 2!).  But then my brand new mtb was unwillingly donated to a PDI Angry Cryand now I have to start saving for a new one.

Welcome to the "Muddy Side" , Kritzie

Also predominantly a Roadie, but cannot wait for my Mtb excursions. As a matter of fact, did not enter Lost City road race this year, but will be doing the Mtb race on the Sunday.

If you can, enter for it. Not very technical and loads of fun!!!

What are you talking about? I ride a bottom of the range Raleigh RM and I know Boredgirl is on a even cheaper Merida and she kicks butt all over the show.

......

I hear what you are saying, but don't forget it's the time on the bike and not the distance.  3 hours on a mountain bike at the same power / heart rate (depending on which you believe in) is the same as 3 hours on a road bike.

I am so enjoying my mtb.  I am even doing my road rides on it.  Nice to be able to jump onto the gravel and play a bit every now and then.  Also nice to be able to get out of the way of big ugly vehicles trying to ride over you.

Welcome to the dark side Kritzie. You won't look back.
