Latrinus, you might be more correct in saying that the old ways of selection were still at large and that that was followed, but DEFINATELY not the right process, so we all know what that mean.

Maybe you guys can put down the names for us now and keep us updated on your website on a weekly basis what is happening/influencing your final decision.

Groot Lem previously mentioned that the person in question stated that she was finished with international cycling. This happend after/at SA's?

If this is the case ... why is everyone still moaning and bitching??

What makes this look very bad is that Erica admits to taking the wrong channels during selection (At the meeting held last wednesday) and now The vice president of the CSA says that they support them with their decisions. What he is actually saying then is that they support them in making the wrong decisions etc etc... I would have hoped for something better to come from the CSA but then this is South Africa and actually i shouldn't be shocked!!

Given the 'speculation' that DB refers to surely it would be more appropriate for Lawrence himself to allay our fears of impropriety, not the person allegedly involved. Methinks the lady doth protest too much.

If I understand the word OLD, then: the old selections policies were hardly followed - since the selectors are all young 'uns and aware of what is goin on around them - they made a racing decision - and funnily enuff I agree with them - even though it is not my official place to say so.

It is difficult to do so - since I am COO am on not involved in selections or communications.

In this instance - I may only do what the Road Commission tells me to do.

Make sense?

Latrinus. One selector is in PE, the other in a dorp in the Cape and the 3rd one emigrating................ How could they know what's going on given that most of the real action is in Gauteng?

Gentle now Grappies - -was jy by die meeting oin Johies? Of waar het jy van die version gelees? Ek het twee amptelike briewe van beide "kante" mbt die gebeure by daai vergadering - en die twee briewe stem besonder ooreen ean was ook besonder opbouend.

Problem is CSA's DB response to an uproar indicates that the cycling fraternity and them are not on the same page. Whilst the customer may not always be right, he should always be king otherwise we all lose out. Is SA cycling better off without Ronel? I think not.

This was poaching of an endangered species which brings into question their REAL commitment to the development of women's cycling. Remember it is after all women who shop at the major funride sponsor, not the men..........

They cannot tell us what to see.....

Goofs and Windbreaker - I thought you guys had grown up a little and got past your TCS / Cruxpearl issues.

Perhaps you should reflect on the fact that Crux has organised a club where the members are happy and the cyclists within the team are successful.  The club has been such a success that they have had to close ranks to decide where they want to take the club.  There are not many clubs that are able to set up' date=' deliver what their members want and get invitations to international pro events all within a year.  It took my club decades to establish the structure and this could only be fully utilised when a big listed, corporate sponsor came on board.

Perhaps if some of this energy and vigour was chanelled into the CSA there would be more successes there.

[/quote']Listen linnega, I am tired of people making assumptions - and you are good at it.

I am not questioning Crux's passion or fervor - those are characteristics that I value in people. Crux has his opinions and criticises other as is his right. I was not bashing TCS either, although read my first line again and then the subsequent responses. BUT I was responding to his posting with my opinion on whether he OR ANYONE can really be unbiased - particularly when they are passionate. The gist of my posting was that the SYSTEM needs to be transparent. Criteria documented and followed etc. etc.

latrinus, please point me to somewhere I can read about the process that was followed and the criteria that were used for the selection process. If it is so transparent then it should be on the CSA some where. Maybe I just missed it.

At last some logic.......There is light...

Alas Windbreaker.....you are pissing into the wind.

Not Latrinus, nor CSA will "point you somewhere".  They are unable to report to the MINISTER.....where does that leave you and me????

Transparent?  You have a snowball's chance in hell.

That is the sad part of this whole mess.

I am afraid I am not yet at liberty to publish the information - I would love to do so - but am waiting for permission. Please do not sound off on that statement for the moment.....

Carinus

ps: I am continuously considering not appearing on the hub again - fascinating what I hear from parents - whose kids suffer due to negativity/ comments after being rudely commented on/about at times, and the trips people go on to promote unreasonable and unaccounted for information...etc? Again, don't flame me - I am voicing a fair comment I hope?
