Tumbleweed Posted September 5, 2007 Share quick question: how do cyclesure and pedalsure compare to simply specifying your bike on an all-risk home policy? in terms of price.
Cruxpearl Posted September 5, 2007 Share More expensive than all-risk home policy, but in general all risk home policy does not cover you whilst taking part in a race
Mudsimus Posted September 5, 2007 Share quick question: how do cyclesure and pedalsure compare to simply specifying your bike on an all-risk home policy? in terms of price. all risk policy is way cheaper. My bike can go from R140 to R35...same insured value. And when it comes to claiming they are so much quicker than others. From M&F and Santam we can finalise a claim in a few days. With cyclesure....3 weeks and couting...

Mudsimus Posted September 5, 2007 Share Youre broker is a very important link in the chain..some D**s crashed into my Bantam and drove off without leaving any contact details. My broker sorted me out the same day, claim approved, booking at panelbeaters made.....everything!
Delgado Posted September 5, 2007 Share For those of you not happy with the way your insurance companies are dealing with your claims' date=' phone the Short term Insurance Ombudsman: 011 726 8900 or fax 011 726 5501 or write to PO Box 32334, Braamfontein 2017. Phsyco, ek stel voor jy bel hulle dadelik, hulle regileer alle kort termyn versekeraar's. [/quote'] True but Ombud rulings are binding only on those Insurers that subscribe to the Ombud process. Cyclesure I'm sure will abide by Ombud rulings as they are if I remember correctly part of Zurich?

Man with no name Posted September 5, 2007 Share LoL Fanie' date=' Problem they still have the bike after I was told " nee hy sal Vrydag klaar wees dan stuur hulle die fiets" so its Wednesday today still no bike.....Phoned them yesterday, no we will find out and phone you.... The bike shop is replacing more parts than necc so they will finish today and send it.....So I guess we wait and see... nogsteedsBut somehow I think Fanie has the right idea but then they'll send someone to Bloem to come and look at my house or where ever the bike got stolen, and then they'll won't want to pay out because the door inside the house wasn't locked to the cycling room, after the thief got past my killer dogs, electric fence, alarm and burglar proofing......[/quote'] Report the bike as stolen and give their address as the last place you saw it... lots of fun
Delgado Posted September 5, 2007 Share Ombudsman ruling said Insurance assesor knows more about carbon fiber properties than Manufacturer of Carbon Fiber Wheels Still no need to accept the decision and you can go the litigation route.......on what grounds did the Ombudsman rule that the asesesor knew more about carbon fiber? Qualifications??

slowpoke Posted September 5, 2007 Share yipes, this is scary to hear about cyclesure... i'm with them and i didn't have major hassles with my burglary, my amashova claim (saddle, my share of the helmet replacement, etc), my car being totalled in april nor when i was rear ended in june. yes, the assessor for the burglary was a $%%& and said that i was involved (i must have astral-projected in that case - has been at an office function in braamfontein the whole afetrnoon) and then the assessor who had to go check my car after i was rear-ended took 2 days to get there, but the claims have all been sorted and paid. steve Posted September 5, 2007 Share Like Casinos, Insurance companies are out to make a profit ......... best thing is to make sure you're on the right side of their rules and if you have a problem sort it out rather than try get alternative excercise by flying off the handle. All insurance companie work to the same guidelines laid down by the SA Insurance Association. Bottom line is to make sure you understand the policy you're about to sign!!! widget Posted September 6, 2007 Share Yes, sure. I cant remember where I read this, but there has been a concerted effort in the USA by the Medical Insurance Funds (medical aids) to have the mandatory Motor cycle Helmet laws repealed in the states that still regulate and control this act. It seems the medical funds have been working it out and found that there was a greater chance of survival in motor cycle accidents where people were wearing helmets - thus high medical fund bills - in cases where people were not wearing helmets, there was a greater chance of the death of the cyclist - thus NO medical bills. So after some number crunching, they figured that getting rid of these laws would save them money. Now theres a scary thought.!

Psycho Posted September 6, 2007 Share So this morning I got a call from Cycle(un)sure anyway, some shop fixed everything and they are shipping it off today (sal maar sien)...... However what Cyclesure did was to send the Ergo's to the agents and have them repaired, not even replaced with new ones Now somehow I feel that someone else is getting the advantage out of my insurance but it sure ass hell aint me.... I'm very anxious to see my bike and to see what they replaced with what.... I get the idea that I will be having plenty "discussions" with them Crux do you think one can go to hellopeter and complain to them?
