Make sure the frank and beans are comfy before getting on the saddle. (this might require some trimming of the old hedge to avoid any pulling)

OREC rule #29 refers

 

29. One shall NEVER rearrange one’s package while riding. Adjustments regarding seating/hanging comfort are to be done in private in order to preserve image.

Don't stop at the top of a long climb. Keep spinning to clear out the lactic acid or your legs will turn to lead.

 

Conversely, take time at the top to (briefly) take in the view - what's the point of taking part in a sport that takes you to the top of mountains if you don't enjoy the view? :thumbup:

 

Wrap your multitool, tyre levers, puncture kit etc in an old rag and keep it together with an elastic band. That way they won't rattle around and you have a rag to wipe your hands with (as opposed to your cycling kit) if you do have a mechanical problem. Suppose it could also be used as emergency TP as well... :unsure:
