 Ever heard of Price Drive? This short (appx 3 - 4 k) hill is situated just off Constantia Road, Cape Town. It is steep, very steep, with three main ramped sections to test your legs and your mental resolve. Tge flattish sections between the ramps are just long enought to get over the shock of the last ramp, and to prepare for the next one.

Any idea of the gradients?

And, the ADT guard will give you a driving escort all the way to the top, then wait to see you down again  .

Makes sense; of course the cyclist intends riding away with a plasma TV or two tucked under the jersey.

Price Drive. Try it. You might like it!

@ Tarmac-SL3If you find it please send it to me. I rode today from blue route up towards the Manor House but hang a left at the Y-junction. To the top of that little climb, then out towards Constantia Nek and Price Drive. Then the rolling short hills in the green belt around the Alphen. 2 hours of hilly riding. Very nice to do this also after a long ride or before heading out over Ou Kaapse Weg.

I love riding up Constantia neck, how price drive compare to going up canterbury drive?

How do I get to it from claremont side?

Price Drive, Constantia: ascent 159m over 1,610m = gradient 9.9%

Lincoln Street, Bellville: 68m in 730m = 9.3%

Vissershok Road, Durbanville: 106m in 1,290m = 8.2% (you already start climbing from the stop, but this only includes the steep part)

I have to climb up here everyday I must say that when I am on the MTB it is much easier than the road bike.
