Im gatvol, mtb stolen 3 months ago. Still dont have a new bike. Hardtail or softtail??????? Ive done 4 Epics, 2 on each. Veteran age, wanna race next year. Either soft with XT or Hardt with XTR or SRAM0 and save 2k's in WEIGHT! My buddies all say hard cause the weight you save is more important than saving the body. Last bike was very nice, the team Mongoose with SRAM0, alum frame, bike came in at about 10k's. But the last Epic was soo bumpy , dry and rocky I swore never again. I just need a salesman to gooi a good salestalk. Anyone spoke to people that did the trialride of next years Epic. If its softer Ill go for the hard option.

gooi hard tail....jy is mos nog jonk so jou lyf kan mos maar nog so paar jaar se houe vat!

 

Ek kyk ook na MTB maar al die manne se hardtail is die beste om voor te gaan.

The Epic was won on duals this year. After riding a dual for 2 years I won't ever go back to a hardtail (I have 2 hanging in the garage that never get ridden). Buy a dual with full lockout, train on it and you'll have no problems. Kyk wat Pea en Henning regkry op hulle duals.
