How supple are you? I am as stiff as a tree. I've always been able to touch my toes, but after a year of near-inactivity, I am lucky if I can reach my knees...Shocked Maybe I've grown some more! Wink

What is strange, is that my quads are still nice and loose, but my lower back, glutes hammies and calves are really tight.  Anyone else have this? It is not impacting my cycling much, but I want to at least be able to put my hands on the floor again...  How do you feel about suppleness? Important? Not Important?

i can....yay for me

the sad part is i only remember to stretch when hot Rob asks us to after spin class....think after racing i am more conserned as to where i dropped my lungs than can i touch my toes....which i can (thought i'd mention this again :))

Oppas dat jy nie daai ingroeitoonaels seermaak met die lang stok nie. Dit help ook nie as jy te veel druk op tone vol gout nie!!!!!!!

I must stretch everyday in order for me to touch my toes. I stretch right after training and massage. It really helps my muscles to recover.

Personally I'm naturally very supple but then seem to suffer when I feel a little stiff even though I'm still more supple than everyone else. To me, stretching is very important because I never get to have a massage so at least the stretching helps me recover a bit quicker.

Even though I haven't been training properly for 4 to 5 years now and am only getting back into it I can still easily touch my toes.  In fact I get my wrist to my toes with only a little effort.

 

But then when I did train (for running and cycling) I used to stretch regularly; especially after training.

 

If one takes one sport seriously, one needs to stretch regularly. Preferably more dynamic stretching before training and plenty static stretching, after training.
