I find it interesting what people complain about at the races. For the PPA riders if you entered the ride early the race cost you R70. For R70 bucks they organise the event, they arrange your seeding, they arrange the marshalls, they arrange the water and they arrange coke at the end of the race. What more do you expect for R70. For R70 bucks I am happy just to be a part of the event.

I will acknowledge that running out of water at the waterstops is unacceptable and that the weather predictions are accurate enough in advance for this. The PPA should improve on this.

However, let us as cyclists be thankful for the organisers that make this event possible in the first place.

Although hey must have seen this thread :

Stop the meaningless medals!

I quite liked the finish at this race - there was cold coke as usual at the finish, skulled two of those, the Cyclelab guys were kind enough to hook me up with another tin and Gerard Genis - legend - handed me a cold Amstel at the Outriders tent. Two tins of minute maid from the hot dog stand, a sprite and a tub of haagen daas from the Constantia Village Spar and I was ready to pedal home.

We carried enough water for a 3 hr + ride and never had to stop for more. Unfashionable I know, but a Camelbak makes it possible. More of the slow guys should consider it. No complaints from me.

Better preparation on the part of the cyclists is a good point. I drink plenty of water for 2 days prior to any race, then knock back a bottle of energy drink before the start. During the race I rarely drink more than one or one and a half bottles.

Yeah same... Most races I finish with a still full bottle...

I wonder if you use Shimano chainrings if it will shift better?

Ofcourse Mr Shimano WON'T let you down....

Becuase he never let Lance down when he rode it, nor did he let Cadel down and never lets Cavendish down either!!

He still even asked..."Are you guys the leaders?" haha...what a chop! I mailed racetec and Eulogy, need to get rid of culprits like this.

Racetec has him finishing 4th ahead of you? So did he even have the audacity to pass you when you dropped your chain?!?!

He didnt pass any of us, when I dropped my chain the other 3 riders carried on, they passed him at the top of Ou Kaaps, that is when they asked him where the hell do you come from
