Is anyone else eating like a MILLION bugs when they train?

On Saturday in Worcester I ate a few, and this morning on the West Coast Road I felt like all the families of the bugs who have ever died on my windshield were ganging up on me!  I could not get past the Rietvlei quick enough!

I'm all for re-fuelling on the bike...but this is just crazy!

Riding to Worcester it was interesting how the miggies were 'guarding' the white line!  Hundreds of them were hovering over the midle of the road almost like miniature little PPA marshals trying to keep us out of harms way.  Was seriously freaky.  Maybe there is moisture on the lines early in the morning or else they were sent out VERY early by Helanie and co.

Mrs Colonel, maybe its your pink bike smiley2.gif

My biggest fear is getting a bee down my throat.  That could really be a problem.  Once hit a wasp at about 70 km/h.  I did not sting me but it hit me just above the eye.  Was bloody sore.

thanks Ratty Sweetie painted me with that stuff last night and it did help a bit . I looked like one of those guys going off to do a war dance . I just thought i was having an allergic reaction to the nice cold beers that we had after the ride at Pearleys. i started breaking out in a cold sweat thinking that the beer was no good for me Wink

Those horseflies are real buggers...rode into a tree on Sunday and fell over...got up, dusted myself off and then realised the horseflies had made use of the opportunity and was chowing on my calves....Ouch  On the plus side, all the bumps make my calves look bigger.
