+1 on the swimming, in the famous words of jeremy clarkson...."how hard can it be?"

I did some swimming training for the lite, got myself up to being able to do the distance non stop (took some time!), but I am a crap swimmer and have never really swam, only goofed around at pools! I think I would have been a DNF had I not done any swim training. My advice would be to do some swimming if you can. It can only help.

Nice Fella`s!!!!!

Have been looking forward to this as I didn't do the last 2. Run is starting to look like something and I just love that bike course!!! Real MTB course, gives us a change to catch up with the roadies!

Karma - What are you aiming for time wise?

Were a group of friends entering the Lite for January -- did the Sasol Emerald Casino Lite last year. Hope this would be bit easier seeing that it is 200m less swim and also in a Dam compared to the Vaal River.

On downside the Bike and run section should be harder due to terrain ... :(

The swim is amazing at Buffelspoort - cleanest open water swim I have ever done. The terrain is tough, but the bike course is just awesome. Beware of the run though... save something extra in your legs on the bike

I've done Midmar 6 times, but last was when I was a 19 - I few years ago :P From what I remember, Bufflespoort is better... Could be wrong. Looking to do Midmar next year. So will know for sure then :P

For you guys who want a little tester - check out www.sbrevents.co.za

There is a short Dirt-X (off-road) tri on Sun 02 Dec.

It is a few km`s past the Roodeplaat dam.

Sould be a good indication of what still needs work before Xterra.
