I'm just excited to do an Xterra! :thumbup: Will be fun even with the mud;

tho I must say I'm NOT looking forward to cleaning my bike and cleats and running shoes and kit and and and afterwards as I have only just recovered from all the cleaning after Sasol-cross! :o

Rouxtjie has thrown the towel in on the race as it's going to be too muddy. For his punishment he said he will wash my bike, shoes, clothes helmet etc AND have a beer ready for me when I finish :-)

running in cycling shorts can cause some chafing but it can be done, if you run into problems on the swim just roll over and relax a bit, there are life guards in the event that you cant go any further! relax and enjoy!! im sure you will be okay

I am also doing the Xterra.

The swim worries me as I tried 400m non stop in the gym yesterday and nearly drowned.

If you did the swim and run in cycling shorts, would it be a big problem?

There's no problem swimming in cycling shorts but find your thinnest shammy and use them. A thick shammy will act as a sponge and therefore add weight and drag which you dont want.

It was an amazing race T-girl but it came at a price

my trisuit - ruined

salomons - still trying to get the last sand out of them

bike:

BB- replaced

chain - replaced

brake pads - replaced

casette - replaced

all in all a great race even at the cost

By the sounds of it I should take off the new cassette and chain and put back the old one if it rains....... Pity the training bike is not up and running yet....

 and I replaced my chain and middle chain-ring BEFORE sasol-cross

I'm SUCH a chop!!

The inside of my tri-top and shorts is now a nice no-longer-so-white colour :o

Has it still being raining non-stop there though, any idea?

no exaggeration B-unit! that red sand is bad! its not that it clings to your tires etc but its very abbrasive,

@T-girl, the white parts of my trisuit have transformed into a odd brownish hue lol, the white puma t-shirt my little boy had on has landed up in the cloth drawer

Check on the Stillwater website, the run as well as the bike profile is on there.
