If you are awaiting items from railed or XC7000 that you have paid for via ABSA bank deposit/transfer (account# 9233809278) - please pm your contact number and we will include you in our internal correspondence.

Currently 6 hubbers have made deposits in excess of R45.000 for cycling items between Friday Jan 7th and Monday Jan 11th.

An arrest has been made and the ABSA account has been frozen. However, ABSA bank has not been willing to solve the matter and no return of funds has been made 12 months after the scam occured. The victims are still waiting for this even after Preston Luke Scott was arrested and admitted the crime.

Thank you

Sorry to hear about this chris, I hope all works out.

It's time for the rating system to happen already.

I am starting to lose my faith in this whole "Hub trust" thing that we have had going.

NOT Ayoba!!!

Come now Preston, this is a place where we (the cycling community), actually feel a bit safer in buying and selling our goods (well I for one feel safer). DONT let us down, get back to your clients and make good.

if not, I truly hope that Chris C takes the correct route and gets you in a World Of Hot Water!!

Good luck Chris C, Please keep us all posted.

Chris, maybe rather than laying case of fraud etc, explain the story to the police and maybe get them to get his residential address. take them with to his place, and see whats up?

or maybe try and get a next of kin's number / work etc from the bank?

many things could have happened to him.

please keep us informed on the progress on this

Wow....that is a sucky one!!

I can confirm, I sold a few things and bought a few items from hubbers....if there was a porblem from my side with deposit or postage I kept them up to date and they got their items...

In the end you trust people, which is very annoying as to you having been on thehub and making friends building this cool community and then people like this break down in one min that was build over a period....

To those I bought from, thanks for the goods, to those who bought from me, hope you enjoying your goods still :)

rating system wouldn't help here..this dude would be a 0% seller

the guy joined last week,

pretty much his first post is a sale item that he doesn't even provide pictures for(did he mail them to you?)

and then he hasn't logged on since

you have..a cell number and an email address, both of which could be anonymous. his name and details from absa(i think that helps)

so, for your sake i hope you're wrong but i think you've been had.

maybe you could try going through his bank, or even get admin to take a look at his i.p. address and see if another hub user has ever been at the same pc..not sure if either are possible

Interesting that one of his posts he backed up what looks like another dodgy seller?

"I bought a frame from this hubber last year, its awesome "

http://www.thehubsa....n-frames-r6000/

i would say 99% certain he's a scammer. but not a good one.

because i followed the other dodgy seller here who has also disappeared - xc7000 and under his profile his real name is...preston
