He's got like 5 in a row now, there must be someone who can paddleswimbikerunpaddlebikerun faster than him. I'd give it a bash but my genetics are crappy

only way to beat Dan at his game is by using chloroform

 

 

"Hey Dan, please help me and tell me if this rag smells of chloroform"

He take a deep breath in the rag and says "No, it does not"

You can't understand why he did not pass out and take a whiff of the rag.

Chuck Norris once roundhouse kicked Dan Hugo...Chuck will be on crutches for 6-8 weeks...

 

Dan reallyu does put the multi in multisports. We like him.

Just learn to paddle faster. Most of the single entrants in the Challenge do not bother to practice their paddling but only do so for the cycling and running parts. They come to GB with busted old skis (sometimes even an old Fenn Millenium which is very tippy but fast) that they bought on the net and have not even bothered to get used to. Then they expect to get into them and just go. Instead they take a swim every 10 strokes.

 

If you can learn to paddle at least to an everage of 12km/h in both the paddling events you will be able to make up huge amounts of time against your competition.

 

That is just my 2 cents.

Come on guys! I checked the times. Dan's surf ski time was around 1h22m. That is the avarage midpacker time over 12km. Superfit guys like you can also get to that time with a bit of tegnique and balance training.

 

Heck, I started surf ski only last year Feb and I am already at 1h30m on 12km. And I was very unfit when I started, wasn't doing any sport at all. Imagine what you superfit guys can achieve in just one year. You would be coming of the ski blowing in his neck. He might just have a fall on the mountainbike leg and you will have his number.

there is a lot that happens from the surfski to the mtb leg might i add.

Dan might just conserve himself on the paddle knowing he has another 6 hours to go. i was cusing all the way on the road bike for having to ride by myself after missng the bunch. dan flew past me just before Bettysbay. i promptly shut up
