Mine is riding at Groenkloof.

I ride there weekly, mostly twice a week, and every week you can see the work that they have done on the upgrading and maintenance of the trails.

I never measure, but I think, even if you exclude the old and new trails at fountains, you can probably ride more than 20ks with almost 90% being singletrack.

Where else can you ride around for an hour and a half and see giraffe, sable antelope, zebra, wildebeest, kudu, impala, jackal, ostrich and of course the illusive and lesser spotted hadeda and guinea fowl? They even released a 3.5m python there recently.

Can you beat that with R25?

Whats your favourite part of the trail?

Sounds like you are a candidate for a yearly ticket.... I think mine cost 550 in october, certainly got the value out of it.... already ;-)

I like the trail next to the fence parallel to the road where the entrances are, and the long snaking single track in the grass lands just before.

I haven't yet ridden all the new single track because I have been going to Northern farms alot of late, also a great place to ride.

I agree with you. Groenies is really nice and I particularly like the bottom section as I find it alot cooler with all the trees and shrubs. I tried voortrekker monument the other day and must say it was also really nice. Cost only R20 to get in and I believe the charge for a year is something like R250(UNDER CORRECTION).Its alright, but not Groenies. Its got 3 routes, and not as long as groenies but still very nice with some wildebees, zebra etc. It is a bit rocky and some soil errosion in some places but overall, I would give it a 7/10.

I havent thought of the yearly ticket. Thanks for reminding me. It will definitely be worth it. Do you get them at the gate or do you have to go to the office?

The grasslands singletrack is my favourite too. Did it twice yesterday to see if I could go faster 2nd time around and I had a wipeout on the second go. The fine loose gravel over hardpack is tricky when the track is a little dry.

The new singletrack is excellent. A little bit more technical and challenging. I constantly grin like an idiot. Go give it a try!

Jiss we are actually very lucky in Bloem, we have 2 game farms to ride, you just ride in and enjoy yourself, no cost. At seven dams conservation area as well in you go and ride your heart out. Obviously when there is a charge to ride it also helps with the upkeep of the various trails. I think because Bloem is so much smaller with so fewer riders our trails dont take a beating. Most farmers are also friendly enough to also allow you to ride aas long as you inform them you are on thier land. Also we dont have to travel to ride, 7 dams is 2.5 km from my house, 700 m and Im already offroad. So Bloem is actually not such a K@K place afterall
