The same question again. Was the race 99km. My computer shows it as 104km

'twas 103km. 2 less than last year. Figures as they moved the start/end down the hill

I wasn't racing, but there was a bunch of guys and ladies who had dropped off the 2nd bunch of the day. I was bewhind them. When they came to the robot at Carnival on the way out, there were cars stopped at the lights. Marshalls didn't show the cars through, and most of the bunch went straight. The marshals were a bit confused as they were standing on the right rather than more left to show that the bunch must turn. The back end of the group turned the front lot had to turn around and chase.

Other than that waht I saw the marshalling was good.

what was the road like on the Diduza section... where the potholes were?

Not too bad as they were well marked. But then I was in a small group which made visibility easier.

marshals were great, hardly even noticed them.

Returning through the 50km riders was dificult at times.

my Garmin showed 103, Racetec should adjust their distance to get it correct.

i also got the crappy kzn medal, and then to make matters worse, left my Oakleys on my car roof as I drove off hurridly to fetch my son from soccer training.

this is a real long shot, but you never know, if anyone picked up a set of oakley sunglasses in the parking outside the hotel (starts with an 'm' cant remember the name) please let me know, i can describe model/colour etc, Pm or 0828858416

thanks guys.

Very enjoyable race. Well organised, but some pretty ripe smells out in the countryside...

Did anyone see the tent selling powerbalance bands at the finish? Didn't seem to stick around for too long...

Seems like these medals are in demand and not everyone knew to go right to the end to collect their's, mine was donated to someone who missed it.

Great race! heads up to the organisers!

Just one thing was the poor road condition, i saw 3 crashes caused by people dodging potholes..

Hope they're ok.
