damnit....AngryCryCryCry....do they know who was the guilty party....if so we as cyclists should push for some harsh punishment.  condolences and prayers to the family.

i am sorry to hear.

unfortunatly, alendale is renowned for all sorts of accidents. i found myself in that aera one afternoon going home. there was an accident on the N1 and i thought i would try it as an alternative. NEVER AGAIN!!! i drive in peak taffic every day,but that day i got home shaking, ready to burst into tears. the way the taxis drive in that part of midrand is horrific.

i would strongly advise anyone not to ride on a bike in that part of midrand.

Cyclist or Motor Cyclist? Heard it on the radio but got the impression it was a Motor Cycle knocked down. Anyway, same difference, two wheeler down.

Haven't heard it anywhere apart from a mate who heard it on 702.

Irrespective of whether it was motorcycle or bicycle I think people on this board jump to conclusions.

Sure it was the emergency lane, but how do you know it wasn't an emergency that caused the accident? Will anyone then question why he was cycling in the emergency lane. As far as I know the emergency lane is not to be used except for emergencies.

Cyclist killed after being knocked over<?:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

A cyclist has been killed after being knocked over by a car in Midrand.

It?s understood the man and another cyclist were riding in the emergency lane on Allendale Road when he was hit from behind by a car.

Netcare 911's Nick Dollman says despite the fact that he was wearing a helmet, he sustained serious injuries and later died.

we as cyclist really should start riding in the middle of the road..see how the people moan then..and tell them is anyway illegal to ride in the inside the yellow line..

today I was riding deep inside the yellow line and a fancy GOLDEN BLING BLING BMW came so close of clipping me with his mirror..I had to stop my self of not braking down his mirror at the next robot
