And the best part is, it accomplishes nothing, except a day of perving. yay for said intelligence.

It's just for those exhibitionists to take their clothes off in public for a reason. btw has it been applied for at the City of Cape Town? This can be deemed as public indecency if not approved. Edwin Watson Posted February 21, 2011 Posted February 21, 2011 You guys are just upset that you cant wear all your fancy gear I think the reason they do it "naked" is to get people talking about it,however I do believe that if an event is organised correctly and a lot of attention is given you will get a lot more people participating in a event with cloths ON. I for one don't want to participate in a naked ride for a number of reasons...

You can decide where to apply the wax.2) Is the saddle black?3) If you want to participate but don't feel the naked bit, take one old pair of white shorts, and just add water.

Skoffels Posted February 21, 2011 Posted February 21, 2011 (edited) If you guys had had the opportunity to see it in London, you would understand how important an event like this is - for people's confidence about their own bodies, and the importance of using bike as a means of transport instead of motorized vehicles. The naked thing is very necessary to create publicity. There are not many other ways to attract that much attention. And believe me, if you're perving you will be seriously embarrassed when 200 naked people ride past and see you perving - you can identify a perv from miles away. Naked Bike Ride events in a number of other large cities around the world has proven to be incredibly successful. So there's no reason why it can't be as successful here; however citizens of Cape Town do tend to be a bit more closed to radical ideas, and a bit embarrassed too! P.S.
