Thanks and when you see Vince, Duane, Myles and Nick Gates from NCC, shake thier hands, bow even if you into that sorta thing.

There is a lot behind the scenes that many people will never consider.. We can learn from this; is TMNP really as bad as they have been depicted and are we as mountain bikers coming together, finally??!!

The new section is amazing. 12 meter step down is a bit out of my league though:)

Ja. out of mine too but OH MY LORD. We've finally built a proper jump at Tokai. It's only right that Vince was the first to hit it. Speaking of.

If you are wondering where the landing is, its about 4 meters out of shot!!!

It was interesting riding there today. Some people could not comprehend it. I absolutely love what we've done there. I can't wait to see Pottie and Andrew Neethling getting sick on that thing.

On a side note my chainsaw gave it's life in a valiant struggle against the opression of imperialist pine tree stumps yesterday.

I'm hoping to source another soon.

Hey guys, sorry I haven't been to a build day for a while, been busy with work.

Managed to get up the mountain for the first time in 3 weeks, and it was great seeing the work that has been done.

I just have one question, what the heck happened to Snack eyes?

Rode it today and the "big" drop/roll down is no longer there. It used to be that you could get a bit of air and land on the face or just roll down it.

Yes, there was a bit of a rut that had formed on the face which needed filling in and reinforcing but now it has been built out so much that you have no choice but to roll over it. Destroying any fun on it.

Puffadder is that short steep one next to Ruins, that makes you poff soos 'n paedo in a kindergarten.

Switchbacks - needs attention! On the cards, but for the future. Not technically an XC trail, more Trail / AM

Below Ruins is Snake Eyes and then Rinkhals. Snake Eyes is up to standard (mostly) but RInkhals is going to be totally revamped - need a beeeeeeg work part for that though, and the new trail needs to be marked out first.

What's wrong Switchbacks? Rode it today, was great, couple of ruts in some corners but all perfectly ridable.

Good question. The trails are up for scrutiny soon so a lot of repairs are being carried out in the areas that need to conform the most.. You can still fly off the edge but the landing is not yet ready. I have not been given a date of the study yet and if I don't hear in the next month, I'll head back up to finish..

Guess you did not see the need for reinforcing.. Big job ahead.

Reinforcing in what sense?

If we can reinforce it so that there is minimal change to the actual trail, it would be awesome

Reinforcing as in supporting the sides and lifting the eroded areas to create a camber for run-off where applicable. Will try keep the raw feel of the trail, but some places will change.
