310XT - but it is not accurate in water - in fact, Garmin does not call it a triathlon watch, and does not even use the swimming 'avatar' for the 'swim' leg. The older 310XTs used an avatar of a person skiing. Not sure if recent software upgrades made it any better.

@skaap yep u have to charge it the gps eats battery life, but if u train indoors or deactivate gps then is better. Also would ony wear it training and racing-it is really not a dress watch like the Polar.

@scalpel Got mine from Bennie and great doing business with him-brilliant deal.

While we are on this.

Can anybody tell me how to change between exercise types when doing a triathlon on my Polar S625X. I have tried holding down the bottom right button like the manual says but that only changes my HR from average, to max, to current.

+1 if used for only running and cycling..

I used mine for 70.3 and other tri events. It may not give details on the swim but the tri function gives one a great analysis of swim T1 cycle T2 run end.

Great tool for training.

The heart rate monitor does not function properly on the swim

No Hr monitor works in the water - H2O is a conductor.

Clean H2O is not a conductor, the chemicals and especially the salt in the H2O makes it a conductor.

Mine works fine under my tri-suit or wetsuit. There is no ‘swim’ setting on the Polar but I use the ‘Speed OFF’ setting so it only measures time and HB.
