  1. No there is not unfortunately. Not the couple I attended at least. Were told all the decisions about upcoming trails for the next year had already been made and we were just going to be informed of what was going to happen.
  2. No, it's not related.
  3. Ag the stanchion is fine, just a lil flatting paper. Lowers some black marker, crown in the cherry red. eyesore. all cosmetic at least. And holy hell i found the super sweet spot settings wise for the fork at last...I think
  4. Well...then you can cry with me...I put it down in the Glen to move a log out the trail for people behind me...right on a rock...Crown, lowers and stanchion scratch Meh, was bleak, but over it now.
  5. Yep, front and rear. I bought the Wolf Tooth one from Evo Bikes for my Pro 2 rear.
  6. My 2018 Patrol, with Magic Mary SuperGravity on the rear, Spez Eliminator GRID Front complete with pedals is 16kg on the head (old tyres pictured)
  7. Just keep in mind the Tranny on the rear is super progressive. So much so that I removed all the volume spacers which were in the air can to tame it down a bit and now rides really well...However...I was running a coil shock on the Spitfire and man o man...What I wouldn't do to have a coil shock on the Patrol!
  8. Also, Cane Creek is releasing the Helm in reduced offset shortly and having had one for the last few months I finally hit the sweet tinkering spot on the fork and holy hell is it nice
  9. Simple answer is save your money, keep your parts, run a 50mm stem. I had the exact reservations when I moved late last year from a 2016 Banshee Spitfire, which has pretty modern geo, to a 2018 Transition Patrol. Running a 44mm offset as opposed to the 37mm offset. Initially running a 33mm stem which was perfect on the Spitfire but "odd" on the Patrol. Swapped over to a 50mm stem and felt great. Although this MIGHT be because I had adjusted a bit to how differently one rides the SBG bikes. So don't consider changing forks just yet. We have a mate with a XL Sentinel and reduced offset fork (Ribbon Coil as those are available in a reduced offset too). SO potentially you guys could wif...bike swap and see how much difference there is ITO handling etc. I can tell you one thing, the 64HA is no detriment whatsoever to climbing performance while seated on these bikes. The steeper ST really puts you in a forward position and front wheel grip is amazing. Similarly if you REALLY want to get the most out of it when going down or going fast you will need to learn to ride the front of the bike more than you may be used to with the Evil.
  10. Assumption is the mother of all... But TBH, a 10mm change in A2C will only result in roughly 0.5 degree change in HA...So your 2.5 degree change is what, a 50mm A2C difference between spec and actual if your angle measurements are correct. That can also come from running a longer fork than spec too if that's the case. But it's more likely your measurements are off
  11. Also...if your bike is not on a perfectly level surface and you measure the angles without zero'ing your measuring device to the surface the bike is on....you're not measuring the true HA, SA, etc Good thing to do is take a side-on picture, then make a line drawing in Paint or photoshop or PowerPoint and then measure the angles.
  12. Don't come talking sense on a Tygerberg forum now!
  13. Interesting...read again. No commentary on trails not being tech enough.
  14. I didn't want to be the first person to write this.... It's fun, but yeah, the skills one can learn are limited. Not sure how they translate to people getting more confident going down the BLUE graded Cobra further up the hill.
  15. Yeha Schwalbe tyres actually measure properly ITO their stated vs. actual width. Maxiss for example measure WAAAY below their stated tyre width.
  16. I have thought the same thing. Bu the Eliminator seems a slightly more aggressive while still having the same braking and rolling featured of the Agg having ridden both and if you check em side by side.
  17. 2.6 or 2.6 Butcher? I ask as the 2.6 is a much stickier compound. TBH my fav rear tyre for a long time was the Slaughter 2.3, then moved to the 2.6 when it came out. They are great. They roll very well adn brake very well and even climb tech damp stuff very well. However they wear rather fast so have a relatively short lifespan before there is a noticeable degradation in braking performance. The 2.6 was quite an improvement over the 2.3, but I suspect that's more to do with the stickier compound and perhaps ever so slightly higher centre knobs than the 2.3, rather than the width. But anyhoo, after fitting the Elim 2.6 up front and seeing the fitted profile and knob spacing I def think it'll be really sweet out back for all conditions. Whereas the Elim up front looks like (still to be seen) it will sukkel a little when things get more damp and/or muddy.
  18. TBH I am gonna run an Elim out back next too when it drops locally in the BLK DMND casing. Looks like it'll roll pretty good and it already grips super well up front, so should provide ample out back too.
  19. Yeah, for the rear. Snakeskin is fine up front
  20. Dude...already been doing exactly that. Cheap as chips too. Bus to Kloof Neck, drop down the Geln alllll the way to glen beach, cruise to Camps Bay and MyCiti back up again Roughly R4 a run or so. The bus really can only accommodate about 3 bikes, depending on how busy the bus is.
  21. Dude, ping me. We ride there almost every Tuesday and then every Thursday from town. Peeps welcome
  22. Shots fired! And not even Friday
  23. Well that's you...not me. I build my bike around the "this is going to have the minimal chance to let me down on the trail"...Therefore never again Maxxis EXO on the rear
  24. lol well thankfully we're 24 years on from that and SHOULD no longer expect such *** sidewalls
  25. I guess I did. But it doesn't matter. At present the EVO is hond poop on the rear for me. I am going a load faster than I was on my old crossmark down the George DH track on my Silverback HT...But times change, tyres should too
