  1. I've only responded to sphincters such as yourself which have come with their polarised and heavily biased views. Go back under your bridge, learn to read objectively and then come back and discuss things. I think once you do that you will realise there is no polarisation in this thread or the few this week from myself and many others advocating for this. There is a plan underway, your suggested "steps" can happen, but they are not the first steps to be taken. So yes, you sound butthurt and I still think you can STFU so that the rest of us here trying to be constructive with as little bias as possible can continue our discussion. How's that sound oompie?
  2. Well I've tried to entertain you haven't I?
  3. Why would that be? Because we've said multiple times how we appreciate Patricks work and how when we ride with him alone how he also enjoys more tech stuff? Interesting. Oh and Mamil...seriously, get a life (and some teeth nogal to bite with). That made me lol...If you poke the Mamil they are known to bite. I must remember that one if I ever see you in person I'll bring an appropriate poking device Ya really don't need to get so agro man. Your misinterpretation of what has been said and what this is as an undertaking is difficult to comprehend. But yes, maybe the AGM is not the place, but it could be. There always has to be some form of starting point for discussions. Needless to say other things are going on behind scenes too ITO this. Albeit flawed as even I had said already. This poll is presents far beta data than have been collected before, whether you accept that or not, is well, irrelevant. Enjoy racing tomorrow then.
  4. It's not a survey it's a poll and it is currently all anybody has. The totals all add to 84 at present. Anyway, the plan will be to use this as a motivation to take to the AGM to open talks to show that there are at least some people who are members to the club and the Hub who are open to this idea. Make of it what you will, but there has to be a starting point somewhere with some data to present.
  5. For sure, jumps are just sort of 1 kind of tech. That Lombards climb is lekker tech We even got an opportunoty to ride down it with Patrick once or at a night ride, that was great too Nice and different
  6. Bra on Facebook somma. He was having a hernia
  7. That's a sore point.... The one Sean Noble was telling me he hopes i fall hard and hurt myself on it?
  8. Yeah something like that is better. Instead of asking people to participate, thereby allowing only people with a vested interest to actually participate you create a bias...and effectively you have no data. But like you say, approaching people at random (well as much as possible) would be better. But if we just do a simple thought experiment...Would any rational person not be open to the idea to some money being spent on more technical trails (amendments to current or new) when there is already an overabundance of other trails to be ridden? My heartfelt answer to that is no.
  9. I'll sign your butt any day!
  10. They are completely thumbsuck. Unfortunately a survey like that is inherently biased (as is this one), BUT...possibly the only way to get some form of data on the subject. But yes, it woudl go a long way, but the manner in which it is delivered should be designed. i.e. what questions to ask (the ones in this poll are actually quite fair and well thought out) how does it go out, what percentage of the club should answer before the results can be considered representative, etc, etc. There was mos a survey a few years ago, but the number of respondents was very low. Anyway, let's hope they are reading ans this is brought up at the upcoming AGM. That will be a good platform to at least come to the committe with some data which one can present to show there are members who would like some more varied or technical/steeper trails (at present it is overwhelmingly positive in favour of). Hopefully it is clear that nobody is advocating necessarily brand new trails esp from the start as that is a massive expense, but tweaking of existing perhaps as a start. Anyhoo, best of luck to the peeps attending, a know a good few of my riding buddies who live out that side will be.
  11. I think you need to read a little further than the tip of your pen. Sorry, nose .. Dammit we're ignoring you I forgot.
  12. I'm just leaving that oke now. He's just being a butthurt troll. Let's just ignore him, seems he's just after a reaction.
  13. Yes, currently the 47 people FROM the club asking for the same thing.
  14. Mamil....what did I tell the dude on prev thread? oh yeah. Butthurt. You have plenty stuff to ride, so STFU and let us 40 year olds do what we do. Bye now
  15. Check the poll...it is very clearly not just me who thinks there could be more variety.
  16. Just Conties ye.
  17. What is daft is giving someone the sense they CAN ride a black trail surely? Then they go to a doff trail centre and die... I dunno man. It's doing a disservice to the community to give people false hope like that. Our society is turning so mediocre already with a few aspects...Let's keep the spirit of MTB
  18. I'm never going to not need training wheels! The BEST part about riding is approaching something you think you cant ride or couldn't previously...working it out and hucking it like Theo (in my mind)
  19. Hahahah well yes, luckily it was after the main slab through that roocky chicane thing actually. Quite comical, but last night was shyte trying to get to sleep. No position was comfortable enough for the bruised spot to not be...noticeable. Unfortunately the bike survived so no insurance payout
  20. Hahahaha, no, coming down the open rock slab on TM. Just screwed up cos was trying something new, braked too hard on the front and washed out. Straight OTB onto my damn hip. BAKA! Sometimes the stupidest things result in the biggest pain in the arse.
  21. Wellll the final straw for me leaving was moving from our house on Majik Forest to Gardens in the City Bowl...So I no longer had ONLY Tygerberg to ride after work anymore. That being said, I thought my riding would suffer from lack of trails...I was wholly wrong P.S. I took a k@k tumble last night so walking is tough, let along driving, so am at home today...hence my (more than usual) interaction here today
  22. Easily comparable to NES. But maybe you don't ride the first portage on NES? But things are subjective, which is why there is a system to assist in making the grading less subjective. Armageddon or rather Canaries is much more technical to get through, think even about the second section (the one that used to be Canaries 1 before Arma came about) and how difficult that was to get through, then you have much tighter switchbacks, steeper gradient, more loose rock on the upper section than Cobra. Also...Armageddon/Canaries is a Blue trail too mos But yes, we can debate at infinitum until we use a system and stop giving people a false sense that they are potentially capable of more than what they truly are. Cobra and many other places on Tygerberg take casualties, but they also accommodate far more riders. It would be far better to quote the number of casualties as a percentage of riders such that the data are more normalized to look at. Simply quoting a number itself can be massively misleading in ones psyche as to what the real story is.
  23. Because nobody is advocating for "extremem dh trails"...shhh. I'll let you know a secret...we can (and sometimes do faster than you) pedal to the top...
  24. Waahahahaa true!
