  2. Hey guys, I ride a 2010 Specialized Enduro SL Comp... Now I want to weigh mine, but don't have a scale...so I was wondering f anyone else has one that they have weighed? Bathroom scale will not work too well, but perhaps a fishing scale might...maybe I should make a turn at the local tackle shop instead of the LBS Anyhoo...any n all comments welcome
  3. ok, fair enough answers...but then why 26" in the FIRST place for those klunkers, and why 29"for the road bikes? We get that it is a standard now because of those old bikes, but I wonder why the originals were that size...? hmmm...maybe time to go Google
  4. Awesome man, thanks, will def keep it in mind next time i go visit the lady down that side (in October) Hope I can get some time off to go ride, but tis tough when u only get to see her like 1 weekend a month
  5. There a DH track out at Paarl Rock? :| Never seen it out there...It there in the reserve place, or on the other side? (soz, not from CT, so only been there a few times)
  6. hehehe... Yeah...I'm still VERY far from being able to do that
  7. whats the diff between the V12's and V8's? I can't imagine having more grip than the V8'd give
  8. Just watched Red Bull Rampage 2008 the other night ... WOW WOW WOW
  9. New Karate kid was v cool actually Brought back memories... Just a pity he now does Kung Fu and not Karate...so it should be called the Kung Fu Kid Besides, they originated in different countries I believe (karate and kung fu that is).
  10. Maxxis Larsen TT was great...had it on the back, very few punctures and good grip on most surfaces I rode...gravel, forest loamy type soil and hard packed stuff.
  11. Guys...if we talking about grams, we must not refer to this as the weight... It is the mass, the weight is a vector and is measured in Newtons, and a direction needs to be specified (although with weight, a direction of towards the center of the earth is implied). Sorry...I have a thing for physics
  12. Yep...something I have been saying for a long time already is exactly that
  13. yeah...i watched a vid yesterday on Pinkbike.com http://www.pinkbike.com/news/tech-tuesday-bleeding-avid-brakes-2010.html V good vid this I think. Pretty simple process, but seems you need that little threaded bit at the end of the syringe
  14. Yeah, there are very many different types of those cleaners, all rated at different pressure. I stand corrected, but my dad and I used one a WHILE ago that was rated to 180 BAR...Now that thing was stupid...might cut your frame if held too close. But I see you can pick up "cheapies" at Game/Makro/etc that wont be nearly as high pressure... The velocity of the water as it leaves the nozzle however appears to drop off exponentially, so enev a very high pressure one can be used...but from further away of course Moral of the story...I say use it, but VERY carefully and test it first on something of similar hardness to your bike
  15. Come ride down in George and teach me a thing or two
  16. Sup guys. What pedals are you guys riding?Flat or clipped in?I was riding a set o DMR V8's...man those things are awesome, super grippy on your feet...and shins But alas I still never got shin guards :PNow I am riding some Crank Brothers Mallet 2's...they pretty rad I must say. I was k@k scared of riding with clips though and it still freaks me out a little.I reckon if I start dirt jumping though I'll swap back to the V8's :DWhat your guys view on pedals then?Anyhoo, just a random question.
  17. google earth man hehehe. I hear Tokai has some awesome trails/etc? I am sick of riding dirt road and ye olde standard XC track...That was even too easy on the short travel hard tail I have heard rumor about some good trail and DH track around Tyger Vally and Durbnville area?
  18. The boerewors curtain? By gf stays in Bellville across from Tyger Valley and I always wanna bring the bike with, but there is never time over a weekend to go explore to find places, so would be cool if you have any hints (maps...?) on where to go ride?
  19. You guys based mostly in Cape Town by the way? Would dig to join for a ride sometime...but also nothing too extreme as still learning, and bike is not exactly propper DH either
  20. First bike i bought while working at the American Fudge Factory back in 1998... It was AWESOME... I was paying it off like R50 a week...Then it got stolen! And I still owed like R900 on it And it was not specified on the insurance so they only paid out R900 ;( So no more bike ... sucks, but I loved that thing...
  21. Craig...dude, I am from PE too...where the hell do you ride DH there? I have been looking for some rad trail/DH type stuff but don't know where to look..The OLD DH course across from William Moffet PnP is trashed...Although I last saw it working over 10 years ago tbh... I don't do proper DH, but I am super keen to ride as technical stuff as possible so any hints as to where to ride would be sweet! What high school were you at? Born in 82? I was at Alex, also born 82 Chrs bro
